registered with the City. The cost to register an existing alarm is $50.00. All new
alarms can be registered at no charge provided the application is submitted
within 30 days from the installation date.
Pursuant to Edgewater Resolution No. 2020-R-21, you are hereby assessed a
fee of $50.00. If this is a new installation, please provide the City Clerk's office
with your alarm permit application and a copy of the installation certificate. If the
payment is not received within thirty days of the date of this letter, a lien will be
recorded. Payment may be mailed to the City Clerk, P.O. Box 100 Edgewater,
FL 32132-0100 or delivered to 104 N. Riverside Drive. The cut off portion of the
letter below must be included with the payment. If you have any questions,
please call (386) 424-2400 ext 1102.
If you believe the alarm was not an alarm as defined in Section 12-61 Edgewater

Ms. Yoakum;
We make every effort through our website, Facebook page, City newsletter and Resident Information Book (attached) to make
residents aware that alarm systems need to be registered with us. However, as the owner of the property, it is your responsibility to
find out what the laws of the City are and what is required with regard to anything that may have to do with your property.
Therefore, the fine for not registering the alarm system within 30 days of activation cannot be waived.
Please note that per the letter dated July 25, 2022, payment must have been received no later than August 24, 2022 to avoid a lien
being placed on the property. As payment was not received by the required date a lien was recorded on September 7, 2022.
Therefore, in order to satisfy the lien the $50.00 fine and $24.50 in recording fees (for the lien and satisfaction) must be paid.
Payment can be made in person at City Hall, or mailed to P.O. Box 100, Edgewater FL 32132, attention: City Clerk; the check
should be made payable to the City of Edgewater.
Please also complete and return the attached alarm registration form so we can enter your alarm system into our database and
provide you with a registration decal.
