A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE MINIMUM
PAY GRADE FOR POLICE OFFICERS AND
FIREFIGHTERIE NITS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2022/2023;
PROVIDING SEVERABILITY, APPLICABILITY AND FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City utilizes Pay Grades for each position indicating the minimum and
maximum annual salary; and
WHEREAS, the minimum annual salary can be increased by 1/2 of raise giv-pn .but no
greater than annual Southern Area CPI; and =
WHEREAS, increasing the minimum pay above the authorized amount for Fiscal Year
2022/2023 for new Police Officers and Firefighter/ENITs will allow the City to be more
competitive in filling those needed positions; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIME CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
Section l: Authorize the City Manager to increase the starting pay for Police Officers to
$21.00/hour- $45,864.00/Annual for Fiscal Year 2022/2023.
Section 2. Authorize the City Manager to increase the starting pay for
Firefighter/EMTs to$15.00 hour- $44,850.00/Annual for Fiscal Year 2022/2023.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective on October 1, 2022.
