FLORIDA HELD AUGUST 12th, 1953.
The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida was called to order by Mayor John H. Gibbs at 7:30 P.M.

The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held July 22nd, and a Special
Meeting held July 29th, 1953 were read. Motion by Councilman Fuller
these minutes stand approved as read, seconded by Councilman Haughton
and by vote CARRIED.

Motion by Councilman Haughton these bills be paid and he made a part
of the minutes, seconded by Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED.

The Clerk read the Budget Report and the Clerk's Cash Statement for the
month of July.

was in regulation with the Cigarette Tax Law was read.

ORDINANCE #40 APPOINTING A LIBRARIAN FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA.
The above ordinance was read in full and passed by the vote of the
City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting
on the 12th day of August, A. D. 1953.
Upon motion duly made by Councilman Shaeffer and seconded by Council-
man Haughton and carried, the requirement of reading said ordinance
upon second reading was waived and the ordinance was ordered put upon
final passap-e.
Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 12th day
of August, A. D. 1953 and approved as provided by Law, the vote of

OF EDG~'dAT2R, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA FOrr THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING
NOVE~ffiER 1, 1953 AND pNDING OCTOBiR 31, 1954, TO THE VARIOUS ITEMS
OF THE CITY BUDG~T.
The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by the vote of the
City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting
on the 12th day of August 1953.
Motion made by Councilman Haughton this ordinance be approved,
seconded by Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED.
Upon moti 'n duly made by Councilman Shaeffer and seconded by Council-
man Hussey and carried the requirement of reading said Ordinance upon
second reading was waived and the Ordinance was ordered put upon
final passafe.

RESOLUTIONS
A RESOLUTION DEDICATING CERTAIN PROPERTY OF THE CITY OF EDG~~AT~R,
VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA AS THE SITE OF A COW UNITY CENT~R.
The above and foregoing Resolution was read in full and Councilman
Hussey moved its adoption, said motion being seconded by Councilman
Haughton and by vote CARRIED. Roll call vote being as follows:-

OLJ BUSINESS
A discussion on Building Inspections took place and a motion was
made by Councilman Shaeffer that the services of Carl Cory as
Building Inspector be terminated as of this date. Motion was duly
seconded by Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED.
Mayor Gibbs stated applications for Building Inspector would be
received up until the next Council Meeting August 26th, 1953.
Motion by Councilman Shaeffer that Adolph LaBonde be appointed
temporary Building Inspector until an appointment was made, seconded
by Councilman Fuller and by vote C~RRIED.

There being no further business Councilman Shaeffer moved we do now
adjourn, seconded by Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED.
