MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CITY OeUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA HELD APRIL 8th, 1953.
The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida was called to order by Mayor ftohn H. Gibbs at 7:30 P.M.
Invocation was delivered by Rev. Hinton.

Present
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held March 25th were read. Motion
by Councilman Shaeffer these minutes stand approved as read, seconded
by Councilman Hussey and by vote CARRIED.

Motion by Councilman Shaeffer these bills be paid and be made a part
of the minutes, seconded by Councilman Hussey and by vote CARRIED.
OFFICERS REPORT
The Clerk read the Budget Report and the Clerk's Cash Statement for
the period ending March 31st, 1953.
COW~UNICATIONS
The Clerk read a letter from R. M. Rakestraw regarding drainage on
the property recently purchased by him. It was suggested that a
conference be held with Mr. Gaddis and Mr. Saxon, but upon hearing
the FEC R.R. were sending an Engineer to make a survey, it was de-
cided to wait until a report came in from the FEC R.R. A letter
from the State Highway Engineer was also read regarding the ponding
condition on U.S. #1 and Palmway St.
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Race recommended that Mr. Jolly be appointed to the Plumbing Board
to fill the vacancy left by Mr. Kennedy.
Motion by Councilman Shaeffer Mr. Jolly be appointed to fill the
vacancy on the Plumbing Board, seconded by Councilman Hussey and by
vote CARRIED.
Mayor Gibbs stated we had a note from Mr. Wm. Hoffman who would like
to Lease or Buy Lot 13 West of the R.R. It was suggested that we
give Mr. Hoffman the use of the land to keep Bee's only, if he would
assume the taxes.

OLD BUSINESS
Mayor Gibbs met with Mr. Barrett of the Highway Department and
reported that the Highway Department would report back on the
ponding condition on Palmway and #l,Highway.
The Mosquito Control Board are to be contacted regarding the
fogging on the other side of the Railroad.
There being no further business, Councilman Fuller moved we do
now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Hussey and by vote CARRIED.
