SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA,
HELD NOVEMBER 5th, 1952.
A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida was called by Mayor R. T. Friedley at 7:30 P.M.

Mayor-Councilman R. T. Friedley Present
Councilman E. P. Fuller Absent
Councilman C. C. Shaeffer Present
Councilman J. H. Gibbs Present
Councilman H. L. Haughton Present
City Clerk Frank F. Dippery Present
Police Officer Russell Leslie Present
Mayor Friedley stated the purpose of the meeting was to announce
the resultsof the election and seat the newly elected Councilman
A. Hussey,
Before turning the meeting over retiring Mayor Friedley made a
few remarks to the Council and the Citizens present.
The Clerk administered the Oath of Office to Councilman elect
A. Hussey to serve for a term of one year. The Oath is attached
and made part of these minutes.
Councilman Hussey was then seated. Councilman Shaeffer moved that
Councilman Gibbs be nominated for Mayor. Seconded by Councilman
Haughton and by vote CARRIED.
Mayor Gibbs than made a short speech regarding the ambitions of
the new Council and ask for the co-operation of the Citizens.
Nominations for Vice-Mayor were now in order and CounCilman
Haughton moved that Councilman Shaeffer be made Vice-Mayor. Second-
ed by Councilman Hussey and by vote CARRIED.
Councilman Hussey then gave a few remarks promising to give his
support to the Council and work in harmony in every respect.
RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA DULY AND LEGALLY ORGANIZED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF LAW
APPLICABLE THERETO.
The above and foregoing Resolution was read in full and Council-
man Haughton moved it be a dopted. Seconded by Councilman Shaeffer
and upon Roll Call vote being taken the Resolution was duly declar-
ed adopted. The vote of said Council on Roll Call being as follows:-

Councilman Hussey

There being no further business Councilman Shaeffer moved we
do adjourn, seconded by Councilman Hussey.
