of the ~inutes, seconded by Councilman Lovelanct and by vote CARRIED.
OFFICERS REPORT
The Clerk read the Budget report anel the Clerk's Cash Statement
for the month of December. The Clerk also read the Librarian's
yearly report.
A motion was marie by Councilman Loveland to re-imburse the Libr~rian
the amount she paid out of her own pocket to help shelve books,
Seconded by Counc~lman Freeman and by vote CARRIED.

The Clerk read a letter from FUrner Bane askine; the Council to
waive or amend the New Ordinance to Dermi..t the Bane's Auto Service
I' .
on U.S. Jl to store and display used cars in connection with the
present Auto Jervice. Also a letter signed by neighbors stating
they have no objections to placing used cars on Bane's Auto Service
property.

tabled for further consideration. No second. ~otion withdrawn.
Motion by Councilman Shaeffer that l\'r. Bane be allowed to go
ahead with selline used cars with the promise that there be no
junk pile around second hand cars, and if so, I recommend that
~r. Bane's License be revoked. 3econded by Councilman Loveland

The land beinE donated to the City by Mrs. Hoffman and ~r. Roth
for the extension of Huhbell 3treet back of their respective
properties, and I further recommend that Huhbell Street be changed
from a sixty foot street to a forty foot street and the ten foot
strip on each sieip revert to the property owners with each owner
standing the expense of narrowing the street and the quick claim
deed for same.
Motion by Councilman Freeman the matter of this extension he re-
ferrell to the City Attorney for his opinion. Seconded by Council-
man Hussey and hy vote CA1RI~n.
Motion by Councilman Freeman the ten foot stip on each side of
Ilubbell Street be 8~pndoned hy Ordinance and e~power the ~ayor
and City Clerk to exercise quick claim deeds to the abutting
property owners, Seconded hy Councilman Hussey and by vote CA~RIED.
Former Mayor Gihbs presented figures to th~ Coullcil of monies
collected and promises of donations of labor and mat~rial and the
approximate cost of the proposed Community Center and ask the
Council to take action to get this rroject underway. Lfter a
lenethy discussion Councilman Shaeffel' moved that a Special ~eeting
of the City Council be called for ~onday Evening and every ~onday
~vening until a decision was reached and a vote taken. Seconded by
Councilman Hussey roll call vote being as follows:-

Motion by Councilman Shaeffer that the money available and the
promises of material available be taken advantage of and we as
the City Council make arrangements with our City Attorney to set
up the proper machinery to handle this. I further say th~t the
Treasurer turn over to the Nayor of the City all monies that has
been collected now deposited in the Bank of New Smyrna and the
:r.layor and this Council he the custodians of the funds to be used
on the Community Center. I further recom!11end that after the
present treasurer turns this Money over to the Nayor, that the
present Boar1 of Trustees be dissolved. Seconded by Councilman
Hussey and roll call vote taken as follows:-
