The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida held March 8th, 1954 was called to order by Mayor George E. Lear at 7:30 P.M. Motion by Councilman Shaeffer these minutes stand approved as read, seconded by Councilman Hussey and by vote CARRIED. Robertson Bane's Auto Service Motion by Councilman Shaeffer these bills be paid and be made a part of the minutes, seconded by Councilman Loveland and by vote CARRIED. OFFICERS REPORT The Clerk read the Budget report and the Clerk's Cash statement for the month of February. COMMUNICATIONS. A letter from the Southeast Volusia Hospital District asking for voluntary contributions for Fish Memorial Hospital was read. Motion by Councilman Freeman to table this letter until a later date, seconded by Councilman Loveland and by vote CARRIED. A Resolution passed by the Board of County Commissioners of Volusia County, Florida was read. ORDINANCES I " II v u u "J ORDinance #62 RELATING TO THE LIQUIDATION OF CERTAIN SERIES F SAVINGS BONDS AND THE APPLICATION OF THE MONIES RESULTING THERE FROM TO THE COMMUNITY CENTER. The above ordinance was read in full and passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of March, A.D. 1954. Motion duly made by Councilman Freeman to cash out these bonds seconded by Councilman Shaeffer and by vote CARRIED. Upon motion duly made by Councilman Shaeffer, seconded by Councilman Freeman and carried, the requirement of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived, and the Ordinance was ordered put upon final passage. Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater Florida, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 8th day of March, A.D. 1954 and approved as provided by Law, the vote of said Council on Roll Call being as follows:- Mayor Lear Yes Councilman Shaeffer Yes Councilman Hussey Yes Councilman Freeman Yes Councilman Loveland Yes Councilman Shaeffer brought up the extension. of Hubbell Street and a discussion followed and a motion was made by Councilman Hussey to extend Hubbell Street to the North line of the Roth property, same being seconded by Councilman Shaeffer. After a discussion of who was to stand the expense of the plating of this extension, Councilman Hussey with drew his motion on the extension of Hubbell Street. Councilman Loveland ask that Officer Norman look into the oranges at Mr. Barrow's place of business and if he found they were beyond use to instruct Mr. Wood to haul same away. Mr. Gibbs ask that a record be made of the following:- He ask Councilman Shaeffer, who has been called t ex to state whether he would be for the Team from Texas or t~ome Team during the Cow Pony Frolics. Councilman Shaeffer responded he certainly intended to represent the Home Team but would be in Texas Cowboy dress. Councilman Shaeffer stated the Olcutt's Municipal Band of New Smyrna Beach had been contacted for the laying of the Corner Stone of the Community Center Building, March 20th at 3:30 P.M. The speaker had not been chosen to date. There being no further business Councilman Loveland moved the meeting be adjourned until Wednesday March 17th, seconded by Councilman Freeman and by vote CARRIED. Time 8:30 P.M.
