The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida held June 13th, 1955 was called to order by Nayor George E. Lear at 7:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayor George E. Lear Councilman C. C. Motion by Councilman Ranken these minutes stand approved as read, seconded by. Councilman Loveland and by vote CARRIED. OFFICERS REPORT The Clerk read the Clerk's Cash Statement and the Budget Report for the month of May. CQII'lMUNICATIONS A letter from Attorney John Chishdlm W?S r.eag regarding the oplnlon of title on West 50 Ft. of Lot 4 M Assessors Sub of Alveraz Grant, and motion made by Councilman Loveland that a check be drawn by the Clerk in the Amount of $676.25 to cover the cost of lot plus Attorney fees and recording. Seconded by Councilman Ranken and by vote CARRIED. A letter was also read from the Clerk of the Circuit Court stating the date of July 13th, 1955 has been set for a meeting of the Board of Equlization to be held in the County Court House at 9:30 A.M. Also a report was read on the meeting of the Zoning Board regarding re-zoning of Park Avenue as set up by the Council. It was suggested by Councilman Loveland that the Zoning Board set up a date for a hearing of all property owners involved and the owners be notified in ample time. . ~_.t.. oJ r. " v u u v RESOLUTIONS A RESOLUTION APFOINTING ERNEST KING TO FILL THE VACANCY OF EDWARD KIEP AS ~JIEMBER OF THE ZONING BOARD OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA. The above and foregoing Resolution was read in full and motion made by Councilman Loveland for its adoption, said motion being seconded by Councilman Ranken and upon roll call vote the said Resolution was duly declared adopted at the Regular meeting of said Council held the 13th day of June, A.D. 1955 the vote of said Council on Roll Call being as follows:- Councilman Shaeffer Councilman Hussey Councilman Loveland Councilman Ranken Mayor Lear Absent Yes Yes Yes Yes ORDINANCES AN ORDINANCE AI~ENJING SECTION 1, 2, rand 5 OF ORQINANCE NO .115, OF THE CITY OF EDGSt'lA TSR J VOLUJIA. COUNTY, FLORIDA. The above Ordinance was read in full and after a lengthy discussion a motion was made by Councilman Loveland to table this ordinance until it is clarified. 3econded by Councilman Hussey and by vote CARRIED. NEW BUSINESS A Discussion followed on a Crossin[ Si[nal on the FEC Ry. at the Park Ave. crossing and a letter was read from ~r. Gaddis, 3uperintendent of the FEC Ry. stating the Railway works in cooperation with the County and State Road Departments. Mayor Lear stated he was going to I.:r. Saxon's office in the mornin[ and would take it up with him. Mr. Herman John ask if the Council would ~rant the Police Chief permission to lead the 4th of July Parade: Mayor Lear stated he would grant Dermission as it was always customary for the Chief to lead the par~de. There being no further business, Councilman Hussey moved we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Ranken and by vote CARRIED.
