The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida held August 8th, 1955 was called to order bY,Mayor

The Minutes of a Regular Meeting held July 11th and a Special
Meeting held July 25th, 1955 were read. Motion bj Councilman
Shaeffer these minutes stand approved as read, seconded by
Councilman Hussey and CARRIED.

Motion by Councilman Ranken these bills be paid and be made a
part of the Minutes, seconded by Councilman Loveland and CARRIED.
OFFICERS REPORT
The Clerk read the Clerk's Cash Statement and the Budget Report for
the Month of July, 1955.
ORDINANCES
ORDINANCE NO. 84 AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE F 600 V-~ 140
HORSE POWER FORD TRUCK EQUIPPED WITH TWO SPEED AXEL, DOUBLE FRAME,
HEAVY DUTY RADIATOR, HEAVY DUTY CLUTCH, POWER TAKE OFF, HEAVY
DUTY TIRE EQUIPMENT, DUMP BODY AND DOUBLE ARM SEVEN INCH HOIST FOR
THE SUM OF TWO THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED NINETY-FIVE DOLLARS.
The above Ordinance was read in full and motion made by Councilman
Shaeffer this ordinance be adopted, seconded by Councilman Ranken
and passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater
Florida, at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of August, A.D. 1955.

Upon motion duly made by Councilman Loveland, seconded by
Councilman Ranken and carried the requirement of reading said
Ordinance upon second reading was waived, and the Ordinance was
ordered put upon final passage.
Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 8th day of August,
A.D. 1955 and approved as provided by Law, the vote of said Council
on roll call being as followa:-

ORDINANCE #85 AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO CHANGE THE OFFICIAL
ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS
FOLLOWS:* "BEGINNING AT PARK PLACE AND EXTENDING WESTWARD TO THE
WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER ON BOTH THE NORTH
AND THE SOUTH SIDES OF PARK AVENUE, FROM RESIDENTIAL TO COMV~RCIAL:
SAID REZONING SHALL BE THE DEPTH OF THE PRESENT LOTS NOW FACING
ON PARK AVENUE."
The above Ordinance was read in full and motion made by Councilman
Loveland this ordinance be adopted, seconded by Councilman Ranken
and passed by the vote of the City CoGncil of the City of Edgewater,
Florida at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of August, A.D. 1955.
Upon motion duly made by Councilman Shaeffer, seconded by Councilman
Ranken and carried the requirement of reading said Ordinance upon
second reading was waived, and the Ordinance was ordered put upon

ORDINANCE #86 AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA TO TRANSFER THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($1,000.00) FROM THE STREET PAVING DEPARTMENT FUND TO THE STREET
DEPAR~~NT FUND.
The above Ordinance was read in full and motion made by Councilman
Ranken this ordinance be adopted, seconded by Councilman Shaeffer
and passed by the vote of the City Council of the Clty of Edgewater,
Florida at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of August, A.D. 1955.
Upon motion duly made by Councilman Shaeffer, seconded by Councilman
Ranken and carried the requirement of reading said Ordinance upon
second reading was waived, and the Ordinance was ordered put upon
final passage.

NEW BUSINESS
A Plat was presented to the Council dedicating a strip of land
on the Lohman Property for a Street so that Ocean Ave. can be
extended across the FEC Ry.
After much discussion it was decided to contact the Dohman's and
see if the road could be straightened out so as to make a straight
crossing over the R.R.
Councilman Shaeffer ask that the Attorney be instructed to see
what legal steps could be taken to condemn the Dora Christenson
property on Riverside Drive.
There being no further business, Councilman Hussey moved we do
now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Ranken and by vote CARRIED.
