The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida held January 9th, 1956 was called to order by Mayor George O. Sedgwick at 7:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayor George O. OFFICERS REPORT The Clerk read the Clerk's Cash Statement and the Budget report for the month of December 1955. COMMUNICATIONS None RESOLUTIONS A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A ZONING BOARD FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA. u o o ~ V The above Resolution appointing Olen Matthews, Miles Dippery, Clifton Mosher and Vivian Oyler to comprise the Zoning Board for the City of Edgewater was read in full by Attorney Brannon and motion made by Councilman Farrell this Resolution be adopted, seconded by Councilman John and by vote CARRIED. Roll call vote being as follows:- Councilman Washburn Councilman Friedley Councilman John Councilman Farrell Mayor Sedgwick Absent Absent Yes Yes Yes ORDINANCES ORDINANCE #9$ APPOINTING A BUILDING INSPECTOR FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA AND SETTING FORTH THE COMPENSATION FOR SUCH SERVICES. The above Ordinance appointing Allen D. Hamer, Building Inspector for the City of Edgewater, was read in full by Attorney Brannon and motion made by Councilman Farrell for its adoption, seconded by Councilman John and passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a Regular Meeting held on the 9th day of January, A.D. 1956. Upon motion duly made by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Council man John and unanimously carried the requirement of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived, and the Ordinance was ordered'put upon final passage. Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular Meeting of said Council held on the 9th day of January, A.D. 1956 and approved as provided by Law, the vote of said Council on roll call being as follows:- Councilman Washburn Councilman Friedley Councilman John Councilman Farrell Mayor Sedgwick Absent Absent Yes Yes Yes ORDINANCE #99 APPOINTING A CITY ENGINEER AND SURVEYOR, FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND SETTING THE COMPENSATION FOR SUCH SERVICES. The above Ordinance appointing Stepp, Inc. of Daytona Beach, Fla. City Engineers and Surveyors was read in full by Attorney Brannon and motion made by Councilman John to adopt this ordinance, seconded by Councilman Farrell and passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular Meeting held on the 9th day of January, A.D. 1956. District ~~ Knapp Ave. District Plaza Lane & Hubbell St. District Pine Bluff from Riverside Dr. to #4 Old County Road. District Riverside Drive from Boston Road to new cut Road on South Motion by Councilman John these so named streets be accepted and a list be sent to County Commissioner Saxon, seconded by Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED. Discussion followed on Petty Cash and Councilman Farrell moved that $25.00 be set aside for Petty Cash. Seconded by Council- man John and by vote CARRIED. Dr. Conrad ask the Council what they intended to do about Orange Avenue and he was informed as soon as we could find a man to work on the streets and could again get shell Orange Avenue would be taken care of.
