02-02-1956 - Special I U o Q J SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, HELD FEBRUARY 2, 1956. A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida held February 2nd, 1956 was called to order by Mayor George O. Sedgwick at 7:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayor George O. Sedgwick Councilman D. L. Washburn Councilman R. T. Friedley Councilman H. John Councilman B. Farrell City Clerk Frank F. Dippery Present Present Present Present Absent Present The purpose of the meeting was a joint meeting with the Community Center Board of Governors to discuss various functions of the Board. All board members were present. The minutes of the meeting appointing the Board of Governors were read. The Mayor explained the functions of this board and a discussion followed on appointments. Discussion on appointment of a custodian followed and the duties outlined as follows:- Keep Calendar of events. Janitor Service Be responsible for opening building and closing when necessary. Be responsible for all properties of building. The requirement of appointing entertainment, building and such other appointments as deemed necessary were discussed. The Mayor stressed the fact that no board member be appointed to any of the various committees, but to work to see that each committee do his duties or make other appointments. Chief Garlick entered and ask the firemen be given permission to have games parties every Friday night until May 1st, proceeds to be used to furnish their own room. The City to reserve the right to use this room if needed. A letter attached to these minutes signed by the Mayor and Council- men stipulates the regulations to be observed. There being no further business Councilman Friedley moved we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Washburn and by vote CARRIED. Time 9:45 P.M.
