03-05-1956 - Special 6 o Q I U SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, HELD MARCH 5th, 1956. A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, held March 5th, 1956 was called to order by Mayor George O. Sedgwick, at 1:00 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayor George O. Sedgwick Councilman D. L. Washburn Councilman R. T. Friedley Councilman H. John Councilman B. Farrell City Clerk Frank F. Dippery City Att'y Fred R. Brannon, Jr. Present Present Present Present Present Present Present The purpose of the meeting was to go over Report on Water Supply & Distribution System made up by Briley, Wild Associates, Consulting Engineers. Mr. Briley attended and explained the report in full. Discussion followed on all three plans and after going over all plans and weighing the different angles, it was decided unanimous- ly to adopt plan #3. Motion was made by Councilman Friedley that the City Attorney be authorized to proceed with the necessary Resolution. Seconded by Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED. Roll call vote being as follows:- Councilman Washburn Yes Councilman Friedley Yes Councilman John Yes Councilman Farrell Yes Mayor Sedgwick Yes Motion by Councilman Washburn the City Attorney be authorized to start validation procedure. Seconded by Councilman John and by vote CARRIED. Roll call vote being as follows:- Councilman Washburn Yes Councilman Friedley Yes Councilman John Yes Councilman Farrell Yes Mayor Sedgwick Yes Motion by Councilman Washburn that Briley Wild Associates be authorized to proceed with Plans and Specifications of Plan #3 in accordance with contract between the City and the Engineers. Seconded by Councilman Friedley and by vote CARRIED. Roll call vote Being as follows:- Councilman Washburn Yes Councilman Friedley Yes Councilman John Yes Councilman Farrell Yes Mayor Sedgwick Yes A public meeting was discussed by the Council and Mayor Sedgwick ordered a Community Meeting of all Citizens March 9th, 1956 at 7:30 P.M. at the Community Center. This meeting for the purpose of acquainting the public with the status of the water improvement project which was authorized by referendum vote in November, 1955. 6 o o 6 COIVJMUNICA TIONS A letter was read from Mr. Conrad regarding Orange Ave. The Mayor stated he would drop a line to Mr. Conrad and clear up the situation of the rubbish pushed onto his property. A letter was also read from the residence on Western Ave. ask- ing that the street be finished. Councilman Friedley said he would contact Mr. Dennis and the Mayor stated he would put the street man to work on this street immediately. A letter was also read from Campbell Brown asking if the City had any objections to his purchasing the submerged land in front of his property. This was tabled until a later date. There being no further business, Councilman Friedley moved we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED.
