03-09-1956 - Special I U (.) o o SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, HELD MARCH 9th, 1956. A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida was called to order by Mayor George O. Sedgwick, at 7:30 P.M. March 9th, 1956. ROLL CALL Mayor George O. Sedgwick Councilman D. L. Washburn Councilman R. T. Friedley Councilman H. John Councilman B. Farrell City Clerk Frank F. Dippery City Att'y Fred R. Brannon, Jr. Present " " " " " Absent The purpose of this meeting was to acquaint the citizens of Edgewater the status of the proposed water system for the City. Mr. Briley, of Briley, Wild Associates, Consulting Engineers was introduced by Mayor Sedgwick. Mr. Briley stressed the growth of the City since the first survey was made in 1952. At that time there were 431 single family dwellings and in December 1955 there were 557 single family dwellings in the City. He explained Plan #1 .. Elan #2 Plan #3 Water from New Smyrna Beach at a estimated cost of $245,000.00 Our own Wells, Raw water at an estimated cost of $290,000.00 Our own Wells, Treated and Softened Water at an estimated cost of $320,000.00 Various questions were ask Mr. Briley by interested citizens regard- ing daily capacity, cost per thousand gallons and financing. Mayor Sedgwick promised the citizens water by Christmas if at all possible and was given a rising vote of thanks. There being no further business Councilman Friedley moved we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED. Time 9:15 P.M.
