06-18-1956 - Regular u o o u REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA HELD JUNE 18, 1956. The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, held June 18th, 1956, was called to order by Mayor George O. Sedgwick, at 1:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayor George O. Brannon, Jr. Present Present Present Present Present Absent Present Absent The minutes of the Regular Meeting held June 11th, 1956 were read. Motion by Councilman Friedley these minutes stand approved as read, seconded by Councilman Washburn and by vote CARRIED. COMMUNICATIONS Mayor Sedgwick's letters to Mr. Lyman L.Gage, Flagler County Mosquito Commissioner, and to Mr. Sam Minnich, Executive Director of East Volusia County Anti-Mosquito District, were read. Motion was made by Councilman Friedley that the $225.00 payment on the Farmall Cub Tractor and the $200.00 payment on the Dynafog be made. This motion was seconded by Councilman Farrell, and by vote CARRIED. The proposed franchise of the Southern Bell Telephone & Telegraph Company was considered and rejected. NEW BUSINESS Ordinance 65 , regarding Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department, was discussed with Fire Chief Garlick. An understanding was reached that a committee of volunteer firemen be formed to suggest certain rules and regulations of the Volunteer Fire Department, subject to approval by City Council, to amend said Ordinance in a constructive way, to meet present conditions. Councilman John reported that the library floor is in need of paint. It was decided that this should be taken care of. There being no further business Councilman John moved we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Washburn and by vote CARRIED. Time 3:40 P.M.
