REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA
HELD JULY ~, 1956
The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, held July 2, 1956, was called to order by Mayor George
O. Sedgwick at 1:30 P.M.

The minutes of the regular meeting held June 25th, 1956 were
read. Motion by Councilman Washburn these minutes stand approved
as read, seconded by Councilman John and by vote CARRIED.
COMMUNICATIONS
Letter was read from Jess Mathas, Clerk of the Board of County
Commissioners, urging each of the municipalities in the County to
proceed as soon as possible with the necessary budget procedures,
so as to file request for tax levy with the Board, not later than
July 15th, 1956, to enable the Board to include the Cities' Tax
levies with the County Tax levy to be made on the first Monday
in August.
Letter was read from Mr. Otto A. Petersen, enclosing plat of
Indian River Estates, for the records of the City of Edgewater,
giving Edgewater the right to take over the streets outlined, and
giving the dedication of the streets to the City of Edgewater.
There being no further business, Councilman Farrell moved that
the Council do now adjourn, to meet on the Ocean Avenue Extension
with Mrs. Menard, to discuss the lease of that property to the
City. This motion was seconded by Councilman John and by vote
CARRIED.
