REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA,
HELD JULY 16th, 1956.
The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida was called to order by Mayor George O. Sedgwick at 2:00
P. M. July 16th, 1956.

Minutes of the Regular Meeting held July 9th, 1956 were read. Mo-
tion by Councilman John these minutes stand approved as read,
seconded by Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED. Minutes of
a Special meeting held July 12th, 1956 were read and motion by
Councilman Friedley these minutes be approved, seconded by Council-
man John and by vote CARRIED.
CO~~UNICATIONS
A letter was read from Henry J. Burke regarding property on Woodley
Avenue being thickly grown up in underbrush of vines, palmetto,
scrubs of every kind. Councilman Friedley volunteered to contact
this party and report back to the Council.
NEW BUSINESS
The Clerk read the Estimated Budget setting forth $40,000.00 for
the fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1956 and ending October
31st, 1957.
Motion by Councilman John the estimated budget be accepted as
submitted and an ordinance be drawn up covering same, seconded by
Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED. Roll call vote being
unanimous.
Motion by Councilman Friedley the millage be set at sixteen mills
to meet the budget and an ordinance be drawn up covering same,
seconded by Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED. Roll call
vote being unanimous.
Chief Garlick reported the Fire Department was in need of a new
Fog Fire Gun~ Motion by Councilman John the Fire Chief be given
permission to purchase this nozzle, seconded by Councilman Farrell
and by vote CARRIED.
Motion by Councilman Friedley this meeting be recessed until
7:30 P.M., seconded by Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED.
