REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA,
HELD AUGUST 27th, 1956.
The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
held August 27th, 1956 was called to order by Mayor George O.
Sedgwick at 2:00 P.M.

COIVJlIUNICA TIONS
of the Regular Meeting held August 13th and 20th
Motion by Councilman Friedley these minutes stand
read, seconded by Councilman Washburn and by vote
A letter was read from G. T. Prall suggesting that the City
clean up all obnozious weeds in the City and ask the FEC Ry to
clean up the right-of-way.
BY-LAWS
The By-Laws for the Supervision of the Edgewater Community
Center were read. Motion by Councilman Friedley these By-Laws
for the Supervision of the Edgewater Community Center be accept-
ed, seconded by Councilman John and by vote CARRIED. Roll call
vote being as follows:-

Councilman Friedley Yea
Councilman John Yea
Councilman Farrell Yea
Mayor Sedgwick Yea
The Clerk was instructed to get the names of the Board of
Governors to be attached to these By-Laws.
ORDINANCES
-Two Ordinances were read and it was suggested by Councilman
Friedley these ordinances be held over until the first meeting
in September.
PROCLAMATION
A Proclamation issued by Mayor Sedgwick calling for a Special
Election to be held October 2nd, 1956 to determine whether Sunday
sale of Alcoholic Beverages shall be permitted.
Attorney Brannon was instructed to draw up an Ordinance cover-
ing a Special Election to be held October 2nd, 1956.
The registration Books were then purged and motion made by
Councilman Farrell the following names be stricked from the
registration books, seconded by Councilman Friedley and by vote
Carried. List attached to ~he minutes.

There being no further business Councilman Farrell moved we
do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman John and by vote CARRIED.
