10-22-1956 - Regular u o o u MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGE- WATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA HELD OCTOBER 22nd, 1956. The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater Florida held October 22nd, 1956 was called to order by Acting Mayor R. T. Friedley at 1:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayor Ceorge O. Brannon, Jr. Absent Absent Present Present Present Present Present The ~inutes of the Regular Meeting held October 8th were read. Motion by Councilman John these minutes stand approved as read, seconded by Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED. CO~TI~UNICATIONS Two letters were read. One from the Edgewater Baptist Church to show their appreciation of prohibiting the sale of beer, wine and Liquor on Sunday. Another from John R. DeBerry President of the Bank of New Smyrna thanking the members of the Volunteer Fire Department for their work on September 23rd when they suffered a disastrous fire in the Bank Building. ORDINANCES ORDINANCE #137 APPOINTING ADOLPH LABONDE BUILDING INSPECTOR FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AND SETTING THE COMPENSATION FOR SUCH SERVICES. The above Ordinance was read in full and motion made by Councilman Farrell for its adoption, seconded by Councilman John and passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida; - at a regular meeting on the 22nd day of October, A. D. 1956. . Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the require- ment of reading said Ordinance upon second reading was waived, and the Ordinance was put upon final passage. Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 22nd day of October, A. D. 1956, and approved as provided by law, the vote of said Council on roll call being as follows:- Councilman Friedley Councilman John Councilman Farrell Councilman Washburn Mayor Sedgwick Yea Yea Yea Absent Absent Discussion the Beer, Wine and Liquor License Fees followed and upon a ruling by the Attorney the only one in error was Henry's Sundries. A motion was then made by Councilman John that Mr. Henry be re- funded $7.50 on his Beer License. Seconded by Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED. u o .0 u There being no further business Councilman Farrell moved we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman John and by vote CARRIED.
