11-26-1956 - Regular o - u Q J~ ~ MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, HELD NOVEMBER 26th, 1956. The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of ~dgewater, Florida held November 26th, 1956 was called to order by Mayor George O. Sedgwick at 1:)0 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayor George O. Sedgwick Councilman D. L. Washburn Councilman R. T. Friedley Councilman H. John Councilman B. Farrell City Clerk Frank F. Dippery City Att'y Fred R. Brannon, Jr. Present Present Absent Present Present Present Present The minutes of the Regular Meeting held November 19th, 1956 were read. Motion by Councilman Washburn these minutes stand approved as read, seconded by Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED. The Clerk ask about paying the Flagler County Mosquito Control for the Cub Tractor and Volusia County Mosquito Control for the Dynaflow. Motion by Councilman Farrell this equipment be paid for, seconded by Councilman Washburn and by vote CARRIED. Roll call vote being as follows:- Councilman Washburn Councilman Friedley Councilman John Councilman Farrell Mayor Sedgwick Yea Absent Yea Yea Yea The C'lerk also ask permission to pay Attorney Brannon his retainer fee along with his regular monthly check. Permission was granted. Amendment to Dog Ordinance was brought up. Mayor Sedgwick stated he would announce before the next regular evening meeting that a discussion would be had during the meeting to get the opinions of the general public. Mr. Bill Gillespie appeared before the Council about the Fullar Plat. He was informed the State Road Department did not recognize the lane as it now stands as a Street and Mr. Cole would have to be contacted and a culvert put in to allow drainage. Mr. Gillespie was to contact all interested parties to see what could be worked out. Mr. McKinley appeared before the Council for an interview regarding Street Work. After hearing from Mr. McKinley and a discussion by the Council, it was agreed to give Mr. McKinley a two weeks trial and if everything worked out satisfactory, to employ him regularly at $50.00 per week. The Council also discussed the cost of building permits and it was agreed to contact other cities and make adjustments accordingly. There being no further business Councilman Farrell moved we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman John and by vote CARRIED.
