Q J U The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, held February 11th, 1957 was called to order by Mayor George O. Sedgwick at 7:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayon George O. Motion by Councilman Farrell these minutes stand approved as read, seconded by Councilman John and by vote CARRIED. OFFICERS REPORT The Clerk read the Clerk's Cash Statement and the Budget Report for the month of January, 1957 and also the report of the Librarian. (J (.) o o COMMUNICATIONS A letter was read from the Chamber of Commerce asking that Mr. J. Walter Bennett be allowed to sit in Zoning Board Meetings and his recommendations be heard and considered as representing the C. of C. interest in the Zoning Ordinance. Also a letter from Beta Sigma Phi was read asking a donation to the Heart Fund. After a discussion motion was made by Councilman Friedley, seconded by Councilman Washburn that Hr. J. Walter Bennett and l'.tr. Nat Brown be appointed temporarily to set in on the meetings of the Zoning Board. Motion unanimously CARRIED. Motion by Councilman Farrell the City donate $25.00 each to the American Heart Association and $25.00 to the Harch of Dimes. Seconded by Council- man Friedley and by vote CARRIED. ORDINANCES ORDINANCE #145 DEFINING MASTER ELECTRICIAN, JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN AND MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN, AND PRESCRIBING OCCUPATIONAL LICENSES FOR SAID OCCUPATIONS, AND PROVIDING FOR EXAMINATIONS TO BE HELD FOR SAID OCCUP- ATIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA. The above ordinance was read in full and motion made by Councilman Friedley this ordinance be adopted, seconded by Councilman Farrell and passed by the 'vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting held on the 11th day of February, A.D. 1957. The above and foregoing ordinance was orderd put upon final passage at a regular meeting and upon motion duly made by Councilman Washburn seconded by Councilman John and unanimously carried, the requirement of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived, andl the ordinance was put upon final passage. Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 11th day of February, A.D. 1957 and approved as provided by law, the vote of said Council on roll call being as follows:- Councilman Washburn Yea Councilman Friedley Yea Councilman John Yea Councilman Farrell Yea Mayor Sedgwick Yea ORDINANCE #146 DEFINING HASTER PLIDrlBER, JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER AND MAINTENANCE PLUMBER, AND PRESCRIBING OCCUPATIONAL LICENSES FOR SAID OCCUPATIONS, AND PROVIDING FOR EXAMINATIONS TO BE HELD FOR SAID. OCCUPATIONS \lIITHIN 'The CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA. The above Ordinance was read in full by Attorney Brannon and after a dis- cussion it was unanimously decided to hold this Ordinance over until the next meeting for further study. \ U (.) Q u NEW BUSINESS Mayor Sedgwick ask Mr. ABrown if the street lights had been installed Mr. Brown stated they had not. Mr. Cole to be contacted and lights be ordered for Lake Street, Edgewater Acres. Mr. McCallister on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce ask that the City donate the old'garbage truck to them for the use of hauling logs and dirt for fill at the Pier, if and when the City purchases a new truck. All Councilman expressed themselves as being favorable to this. Councilman John stated that at the Fire meeting the Fire Chief had brought up the fire hazard along the east sice of Old County Road and ask what could be done about it. Mayor Sedgwick stated that this property was acreage and could not be included in the lot cleaning program as it would run into too much expense to the City.
