The ~inutes of the Regular Meetin~ held April 22nd, 1957 were presented to
each Councilman. Councilman 'l'Tashburn moved these minutes stand approved as
submitted, seconded by CouncilmEn John and by vote CAF~IED.
COMMUNICATIONS
A letter was read from Florida Power & Light regarding acceptance of Ordinance
#151 granting this Company, its successors and assigns an Electric Franchise.
RESOLUTION
A FESOLUTION DECLARING THE NOHINEES FOR THE OFFICE OF CITY COUNCILHAN OF THE
CITY OF EffiE\o'lATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLOF.IDA, TO BE ELECTED AT A SPECIAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD ON :HAY Ihth, 1957 A~ID THE ISSUE OF vlHETHgR OR NOT THE CITY OF EffiE-
;'TATER SHALL EXTEND THE CITY BOUNDARIES TO nrCLUDE THE PROPERTY KNO'lIN AS FLORIDA
SHORES, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PREPARATION MID PRUITING OF BALLOTS FOR SAID
ELECTION. '
Motion by Councilman John this resolution be adopted, placing the names of
Stanley A. Seng, Sr., Crawford C. Shaeffer and Charles G. Teague on the Ballot
Special Election to be held May 14th, 1957 for Councilman District #2, and
Shall the City of Edgewater Extend the City Boundaries to include the property
knm1n as Florida Shores? be placed on the ,Ballot Special Election to be held
!>l'ay 14th, 1957. Seconded by Councilman Hashburn and by vote CARRIED.

ORDINANCES No. 155 AMEl'IDING ORDINANCE No. 135 OF THE CITY OF EffiEi'JATER ENTITLED
"AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON SUNDAYS IN THE
CITY OF EWEWATER, FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF"
The above Ordinance was read in full by Attorney Brannon and motion made by
Councilman Washburn this ordinance be adopted, seconded by Councilman John and
passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edge,.~ter, Florida, at
a regular meeting on the 29th day of April, A. D. 1957.
Upon motion duly made by Councilman John, seconded by CouncilmAn Washburn and
unanimously carried, the requirement of reading said ordinance upon second
reading "ras ,,~ived and the ordinance vlas ordered put upon final passage.
Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at
a Regular Meeting of said Council held on the 29th day of April, A. D. 1957
and approved as provided by LaI^!, the vote of said Council on roll call being

OLD BUSINESS
Bids on Roller and Distributor were read. Revised bid read and discussed.
The purchase of Asphalt was discussed and motion made by Counci~~ Washburn
we purchase up to 5000 gal. of Asphalt Oil either M.C. #1 or M. C. Zero
from Jacksonville at County Purchase Price, Seconded by Councilman Farrell
and by vote CARRIED.
Discussion on the storage of this asphalt. Mayor Sed~,lick stated he had
contacted Mrs. Kuhlhoff and the City can use her storage tank, to be put in
by carload lots or transit truck.
City Attorney Brannon 1~S instructed to have a Re-appropriation Ordinance
ready for the next Regular Meeting and a Civil Defense Resolution ready for
the Meeting of }my 13th.

Discussed appointments for Election Board and names suggested. These persons
to be contacted to work on the Election Board }hy l~th.
There being no further business Counci~~n Farrell moved we do now adjourn,
seconded by Councilman ~';ashburn and by vote CARRIED.
