REGULAR NEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL

COUNTY, FLORIDA, HELD AUGUST 26th, 1957.
The Regular Meeting of the City COllilCil of the City of Edgewater held August
26tll, 1957 was called to order by ~ayor George O. Sed~.dck at 1:30 P.M.

The !.[inutes of the Regular Heeting held August 19th, 1957 ",ere presented to
each Cormcilman for approval. Notion by Cormcilman Teague these minutes
stand approved as submitted, seconded by Cormcilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED.
COl>i!v[J}ITCATIONS
Letter was read from Nat Brovm, Edgewater n~res Homes, Inc. asking that a check
in the amormt of $1,000.00 advanced toward one-half the cost of paving Flagler
Ave. be returned unless the paving is done by a private contractor or by Volusia
#
Cormty.
Notion by Cormcilman Teague the check of l-'1r. Browns be held rmtil the City
fulfills its part of the contract according to agreement dated January 16th,
1957, seconded by Cormcilman Jol1n and by vote CA~RIED.
Letter from Volusia Cormty Health Unit was read asking that the City provide
f or handling septic tank ~p trucks through sani taI""'J land fills. The Clerk
to answer this letter stating that the City does not allow this refuse to be
dumped "rithin the City Limits.
Letter read from Florida Power & Light Comp~r informing~ us the engineers will
immediately take care of lights in Florida Shores and we will be notified when
installation is completed.
CO~J of notice sent to Florida Shores Builders by Jol1n H. !10ynahan regarding
the size of signs and restrictions as stipulated in Paragraph 5 of tqeir con-
tract and deed restrictions.
This was discussed widely and Attorney Brannon ruled that all deed restrictions
were precedent to any City rules or regulations.
A letter was also read from l1r. Bro1om censuring VJaYor Sedgwick during the time
he was building inspector and also as }ayor for not fulfilling his verbal con-
tract to shell Turgot Ave. west of Highway to Play-grounds. }fuyor Sed~'rick
ask that this letter be tabled and given permission to answer !~. Brown himself.
Florida Shores presented plats to be signed. These plats were already accepted
by the City and only the lot numbers we~e added to these plats. Motion b:T Council-
man Farrell, seconded by Cormcilman Teague and carried that the }~yor and City
Clerk sign these plats as submitted. Roll call vote being as fol101'1'S:-
