Also a request from citizens having access to this st~eet petitioned the'
City to open Plaza Lane from its present end East of Hubbell Street to U. S.
Highway No. 1. This was signed by 28 persons. Mr. Charles Teague represent-
ing the people of this district sopke about a bottle neck and having to
double back eveIJr time they want to go to town. It was brought up our
Ordinance calls for 40 ft. streets. It viaS then brought out that Plaza Lane
is only a 30 ft. street at present. Councilman Shaeffer said he had no ob-
jections and would vote for this street if the street is plated, shelled and
recorded by the party giving the street. He also pointed out there were at
least eight names on the petition that should not be on it as they did not
live on Hubbell Street. Hayor Sedgwick stated the Lohman's are willing to
give the land, you can accept or reject it, I do not care. One thing is sure,
the City cannot open and shell this street this year under our present budget. .
Mr. Teague stated one or two rninutes when a doctor is needed might mean a life.
}myor Sedgwick:- What action does the Council wish to take? Councilman Henry
stated he was against the City shelling any street on private property to open
a subdivision. Councilman Shaeffer stated he would vote for this street if
Y~s. Lohman opens up the street and shells it. }1r. Sen1, from the floor stated
this I~S not a subdivision and the Lohman's were giving this ground to open a
through street.
After a full discussion, motion was duly niade by CouncilJpan Shaeffer lie accept this land
for a street, seconded by Councilroan Broga and by vote CARRIED. Roll call being as
follows:-
Councilwan Broga Yea
Councilman Shaeffer Yea

Letter from lfor. Lauff. Hayor Sedgwick ask Hr. Lauff just what business he in-
tended to open up and how large the building he intended to put up. Mr. Lauff
stated the building would be 24 x 40 and would house a Garage & Lunch Room and
he would handle late model cars. Not a junk yard or anything like that, but
late model cars. Mayor Sedgwick stated the new ordinance allowed used car lots
and he could see no reason to hold up a perITit for this business. He stated
the permit ..TOuld be granted and he could obtain a building permit at any time.
There being no further business Councilman Farrell moved we do now adjourn,
seconded by Councilman Shaeffer and by vote CA.~ED.
