RmULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EOOEWATER, FLORIDA,
HELD DECEMBER 15th, 1958.
The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
held December 15th, 1958 was called to order by Mayor George O. Sedgwick at
7:30 P.M.

The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held December 1st, 1958 and a Special
Meeting held December 3rd, 1958 were presented to each Councilman for his
approval. Motion by Councilman Henry these minutes stand approved as sub-
mitted, seconded by Councilman Broga andby vote CARRIED.

Motion duly made by Councilman Broga these bills be paid and be made a part
of the minutes, seconded by Councilman Henry and by vote CARRIED.
AUDIT REPORT
Mr. Frank Genter, a Certified Public Accountant read the Audit Report for the
year ending October 31st, 1958. Mayor Sedgwick thanked Mr. Genter for the re-
< port and motion was duly made by Councilman Broga the audit be M'P.roved and
~p.ted, seconded by Councilman Henry and by vote CARRIED. Roll call vote

OFFICERS REPORT
The Clerk read the Clerk's Cash Statement and the Budget Report for the month
of November, 1958. Also the Librarian's Report for the month.

OLD BUSINESS - None
NEW BUSINESS
Mayor Sedgwick stated he had a project which he would like to bring up and
ask that the Council give it due consideration and that was the widening~
curbing and laying sidewalk on Park Ave. from Ridgewood to the River Road.
He stated there would be no drainage expense as the line from the treatment
plant would take care of it. He stated it was a hazard as the road is now
and ask permission to ascertain the cost and ways and means of getting this
done. Motion by Councilman Henry the Mayor have a survey made and find out
the cost of this work~ seconded by Councilman Broga and by vote CARRIED.
Mr. Frazier ask for the floor. He stated he would like to mow what the
reason was for only 1qing a 2" water line from Boston Road to the City Limits.
He stated if they were not to have City benefits they might just as well be in
the COlUlty. He stated there were no fire plugs in that district and it would
be impossible for them to have insurance reduced without proper fire protection.
He also stated there were 21 users and also a new trailer Park going in which
would accomodate 60 trailers and also two other business places. Mayor Sedgwick
stated the engineers had drawn up the plans and specifications and they had been
approved both in Atlanta and Washington and certainly the Government Engineers
should know what they were doing.
Mr. Frazier also ask for a used car lot. This was discussed and Mayor Sedgwick
stated when the new Zoning ordinance was ready at the next meeting it would
probably be incorporated into the new ordinance to allow used car .lots.
Motion was duly made by Councilman Henry if the Zoning Board have no objections
this used car lot be allowed. No second as another discussion started.
Mr. Brown ask about a light at U. S. #1 and Park Ave. He stated all the
organizations in the City were writing letters to County Conmissioner Saxon~
Senator Gautier and State Road Superintendent Richey Green. He stated he was
advised by very good authority if enough pressure was brought against Mr. Green
a light would be installed. He ask that the Council join with the other
organizations in writing letters to the different heads and put pressure on
them to secure this light before someone is killed.
Motion duly made by Councilman Henry the City Couricil pass a Resolution to procure
a light at Park Ave. and U. S. #l~ seconded by Councilman Broga and by vote CARRIED.
There being no further business Councilman Henry moved we do now adjourn~
seconded by Councilman Broga and by vote CARRIED.
