Barrow to remOve delapidated buildings located on Lots 1 and 2, Raulerson's Subdivision Sheppard and Sanchez Grant. as per map in Map Book 56, Page 155, Public Records Volusia County, Florida. AND Lots lto 6 inclusive, Block l~ Midway Park, Sheppard and Sanchez Grant, .as per map in Map Book 8, Page b5, Public Records V olusia County, Florida. ' '" The above Agreement lR\s read in .full by Attorney and motion duly made by Council- man Shaeffer the City enter into this agreement with John Barrow and wife Alma. M. Barrow by execution or this agreement by the Mayor, seconded by Councilman Broga and by vote CARRIED. Roll call vote being as follows:- Councilman Broga Yea Councilman Shaeffer Yea Councilman Henry Yea Councilman Farrell Yea Mayor Sedgwick Yea NEW BUSINESS Mayor Sedgwick stated he had been approached by a gentlemen who wished to open an Auction House where Green's Market is located on South Ridgewood, but objected to a fee of $350.00 a year for an Auction House. He quoted license fees charged in other Cities. After discussion from the Council table and the floor amotion was duly made by Councilman Henry our ordinance be amended to read $50.00 fee for Auction Houses. There was no second and COl.Ulcilman Shaeffer stated he would go along if the fee 'Was raised to $100.00 per year. COl.Ulcilman Henry then amended his motion to read $100.00 for Auction Houses and seconded by Councilman Farrell and by vote CARRIED. The Mayor stated the CM did not require a light on the.. Water Tank, but other cities had been compelled to put a light on after erection of the. tank at a DDlch greater cost. The cost of this light would be appraximately- $480 if installed while construction was going on and would be a great savings. The cost of the light would be added to con- struction cost. Each Councilman expressed his views and it was unani:mously decided to have this light installed at this time. Discussion on donation to Fish Memorial Hospital. Councilman Shaeffer stated as he had said before, if the City- donates money- to the hospital, it is the people who pay, as they- are all contacted for donations and that means double taxation. Mayor Sedgwick stated the Charter does not allow us to make donations of any kine and Attorney- Chisholm also stated the May-or was right and also that the City- of New S~ Beach was not donating. Councilman Shaeffer ask what a.ction had been taken on cleaning up the property at Park Ave. & Old County Road. He was informed this property had been cleaned two years ago and another notice had been sent but we had not received a:ny re~. He then ask that the City take proper steps to see that this property is cleaned. A plat was presented to the Council from Mr. Uncer. After a discussion this was tabled until after the Dec. 1st meeting when there will be a Conserva.tion Agent in attendance to discuss establishment of a bulkhead line. Mayor Sedgwick also announced a Public Hearing on Zoning to be held November 20th, at 7:30 P.M. There being no further business Councilman Farrell moved we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Shaeffer and by vote CARRIED. Time 8:35 P.M.
