RESOLUTION
RESOLu~ION ORDERING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD IN THE TOWN OF EDGEWAT~R, .F1.0RIDA IN THE
YEAR 1948, PRESCRIBING THE TIME AND THE: PLACE
FOR HOLDING SUCH ELECTION; PRESCRIBING THE RULES
BY WHICH SUCH ELECTION SHALL BE COVERED, M~D PRE-
SCRIBING THE TIME THE POLLS SHALL BE OPEN ED AND
CLOSED, .Al~D PROVIDING FOR NOTICES OF SUCH ELECTION.
WHEREAS, Councilman Felbert F. Barker has resigned from said
office and his resignation has been accepted by the To~~
Council, and
~REREAS, The Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Vol usia
County, Florida is authorized and empowered Lmder ond by
virtue of the authority vested in it by the Laws of the State
of Florida, and the Ordinances of the Town of Edgewater,
Florida, to call a special election in said To~~, end to
prescribe by resolution the time and place of holding such
election end t he purpose thereof; and
WHEREAS, It is proper for the aforesaid Council to order a
special election to be held in the aforesaid To~n for the
purpose of electing one Councilman to serve for the unexpired
term of Felbert F. Barker, who has resigned, and whose resig-
nation has been accepted; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TO\^.'N OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That a special election be and the same is hereby
ordered to be held in the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County,
Florida, at the Town Hall (otherwise known as the community
or V.I.A. Hall on Tuesday, the ~day of _Juno A. D. 1948
for the purpose of electing one Councilman to serve for the

unexpired term of Felbert F. Barker who has resigned,
or until his successor is duly elected and qualified.
Section 2. That at the said election the same laws and
rules apply to the General Elections under the Laws of
the State of Florida, and the Ordinances of the Tovm of
Edgewater, Florida shall be observed.
Section 3. That the Polls at the above named voting place
shall be open at 7:00 o'clock A.M. Eastern Standard Time
(that being the time in use in said Town at the date of
said election) on said day of said election and shall close
at 7:00 o'clock P.M. of said day.
Section 4. That the Town Clerk of said Town be qnd he is
hereby directed to give Notice of the said election hereby
ordered by posting the Notice, form of which is hereinafter
set forth, at least fifteen (15) days prior to the date upon
which the said election hereby ordered is set in three (3)
different, conspicuous and public places in said To~~, one
of which shall be at the front door of the V.I.A. Town
Hall in said Town.
Section 5. That the Notice of such election to be posted as
herein provided shall be in substantially the following form,

NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN ELECTION
NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Council of the
To~~ of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida under and
by virtue of the authority vested in it by the Laws
of the State of Florida, and the Ordinances of said
Town, has ordered a spec:Lal election to be held on
Tuesday the :!Lday of Juno ,A. D. 1948, at the Town
Hall (otherwise known as the Community or V.I.A. Hall)
for the purpose of electing One Councilman for the
unexpired term of Felbert F. Barker, who has resigned
and whose resignation has been accepted, or until his
successor is duly elected and qualified. The polls
for said election shall be open at the hour of Seven
(7:00) o'clock A.M. Eastern Standard Time, and shall
close at Seven (7:00) o'clock P.M. on the day of said
Election.
Said election shall be in substantial. conformity
with the Laws and Rules applicable to General Elections
held under the Laws of the State of Florida, and
subject to the Ordinances of the To\Vll of Edgewater,
Florida.
