OLD BUSINESS
The pav:L.'1g of Harion &. Industrial Avenues. Hayor Sedg\'Iick stated the
money budgeted for next years paving 1'laS ~~5 ,000 and if the City paved
theset~ese streets it would not leave any money to pave any other
streets. 1.D.'. Bennett i'.as called upon to speak andl he stated he had
a prospect for the property on the extreme East end of this project and
they 11ere contracting for at least 2500 ft of black top for parking area
and certainly they lIOuld want a paved street leading to their industry.

adjoining property o~ners could be assessed ~'1d as the City receives taxes
the corporation could be re~bursed. f~or Sed~1ick suggested 11e enter

stated he thought it would be a good idea to get together with the property

Letter from State Road Department in answer to our request for a cente::,
r.~ul cross over at }'~rion Street. The letter is an explanation that this
v!ork ca.'1not be done until the cont:.~acto:c turns the road over to the ~.aintain-
a.l1ce department.
Letter from Hr. Brovm. Dumping at the old clump. lIayor Sedg\,licl~ stated he
had given per~ission to dump small trash ~l1d burn at the old dump and he stated
he did not see why }~. Bro~n should raise any objections as long as it is not
used for garbage. Councilman Herl.ry stated he also raised objections as long
as He have a ne", du..rr~p "Thy burn on the old du..mp and have all t~e homes in
Edge'1ater Acres filled v.r:i..th smoke. I:otion by Counciln.a.n Shaeffer '.....e stop
du..mping on the old site and the City a::'range to have signs placed on this

Chal~ter lmuld anSHe;.~ this letter. Attorney Chisholm t~en read this Section
130 regarding registration. Attorney Chisholm then stated it was his opinion
we would have to ch&'1ge the charter to allow for single registration. liotion
by Councilm.ar. Henry the attorney follow up and see \~lat procedure we have to
go through to ~~:e this ch~l1ge, sec~lded by Cou..l1ci~.an Shaeffer and by vote
CAIL"ilIED .
Issuance of a License to Hr. Paccione to sell used cars on U. S. ;;,'~l. This
prohibited by Ordinance JS. }~yor Sed&'uck called on ~~. Paccione to state
what~he intended to do. He stated he .vas going to sell used cars and used
house trailers a.l1d tI"J to get a franchise for nel'[ cars. Council.rr.an Broga
stated he doubted if l-'l'r. Paccione could get a franchise for new cars as he
did not have facilities to hendle them as they require a service department.
Mr. Paccione stated ~~. Southard, fT. Redmond a.l1d the people back of him had
no objections to his selling used Cal~S and he intended to keep it clean as
long as he o~med it. }~. Southard then stated he saw no objections to tnis
business as it was nice and clean and so m~ch better than ~~en the former

Issuance of a Licer_se to Hr. Hu:rck on Riverside Drive. Hr. Huyck came before
the Council and ask for a license to sell New Boats and rhrine Supplies. Ordinance
#8 prohibits any new business on Riverside Drive. He stated he did not intend
to make repairs as he 1'Jas not able to do this kind of vIOrk. All he wanted 1-1as
to have a couple of Alund.ll'Urll Boats t:ceated for salt 1,[ater and some Harine Supplies
and he 1-1ould 1-!ork from his garage. Several residents from this area objected
to Er. Hu:rck carr.fing on any kind of business in this locality as it VIas strictly
residential. A.fter a lengthy discussion CouncilJ:1.an Shaeffer stated there yJas a
zone for Business and Industr'"J and He ITIight just as ......ell not set up anything in
~~ ordinance if we allow business to be carried on else11here. Therefore, I rr~~e
a motion to deny this license to 1-11'. Huyck, seconded by Councilm&~ Hem'Y and by

City Limits Signs discussed. The State Road Department vnll not allow any sign
on the right of way, but }~yor Sed~fuck stated a sign stating the name of the
City could be placed in center maul. This sign to be srnall the sa~e as used
on any four lane highHay. Council.'T.an Shaeffer stated :Le v:as in favor of the
City placing a sign in the center maul. Hr. Grafton ask vlho "IOuld pay for such a sign
and Has informed the Cit:r 1iould pay for it. He then ask if the City ....lOuld have
any objections to the Chamber of Comerce putting up a sign if they obtained
propert;:r to put it on. He 1'las inforrr.ed the Cit:r only objected to large bill
boards.
