RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION ORDERING M~ ANNUAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD IN THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA IN THE
YEAR 1946, PRESCRIBING THE TIME .A.ND THE PLAClE
FOR HOLDING SUCH ELECTION; PRESCRIBING THE RULES
BY WHICH SUCH ELECTI(}N SHALL BE COVERED, .AND PRE-
SCRIBING THE TIME THE POLLS SHALL BE OP&'1liID .AND
CLOSED, .AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICES OF SUCH ELECTION.
WHERE.AS, The Town Council of the T01'V"Il of Edgewater, Volusia
County, Florida is authorized and empowered under and by
virtue of the authority vested in it by the Laws of the State
of Florida, and the Ordinances of the TO~"Il of Edgewater,
Florida, to call an annual election in said Town, and to
prescribe by resolution the time and place of holding such
election and the purpose thereof; and
WHEREAS, It is proper for the aforesaid Council to order an
annual election to be held in the aforesaid Tovm for the
purpose of electing one Councilman to serve for a term of three
years, and for the further purpose of electing a TovVIl Clerk
for a term of one year (or until their or each of their
successors are duly elected and qualified); now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That an annual election be and the same is hereby
ordered to be held in the TovVIl of Edgewater, Volusia County,

Florida, at the Tmvn Hall (otherwise known as the community
or V. I. A. Hall on Tuesday, the fifth day of November, A. D.
1946, for the purpose of electing one Councilman to serve
for a term of three years, or until his successor is duly
elected and qualified; and for the further purpose of electing
a To~n Clerk to serve for a term of one year, or until his
successor is duly elected and qualified.
Section 2. That at the .said election the same laws and
rules that apply' to the General Elections under the Laws of

the State of Florida, and the Ordinances of the TOVlln of
Edgewater, Florida shall be observed.
Section 3. That the Polls at the above named voting place
shall be open at 7:00 otclock A.M. Eastern Standard Time
(that being the time in use in said TOVvn at the date of
said election) on said day of said election and shall close
at 7:00 otclock of said day.
Section 4. That the Tow'Il Clerk of said To~n be and he is
hereby directed to give Notice of the said election hereby
ordered by posting the Notice, form of which is hereinafter
set forth, at least fifteen (15) days prior to the date upon
which the said election hereby ordered is set in three (3)
different, conspicuous and public places in said Town, one
of which shall be at the front door of the V. I. A. Town Hall
in said Town.
Section 5. That the Notice of such election to be posted as
herein provided shall be in SUbstantially the following form,

NOTICE OF AN1TUAL TOWN ELECTION
NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Council of the
Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida under and
by virtue of the authority vested in it by t he Laws
of the State of Florida, and the Ordinances of said
Town, has ordered an annualelectio'n to be held on
Tuesday, the fifth (5th) day of November, A. D. 1946
at the Tovm Hall (otherwise knovvn as the Community
or V. I. A. Hall) for the purpose of electing One
Councilman for the term of three (3) years, and One
Town Clerk for the Town for one (1) year, or until
their or each of their successors is or are duly
elected and qualified. The polls for said Election
shall be open at the hours of Seven (7:00) o'clock
A.M. Eastern Standard Time, and shall close at
Seven (7:00) o'clock P.M. on the day of said Election.
Said Election shall be in substantially conformity
with the Laws and Rules applicable to General Elections
held under the Laws of t he State of Florida, and
subject to the Ordinances of the Town of Edgewater,
Florida. -

Section 6. Only those who are qualified electors duly
registered on the Registration Books of saia. Town shall be
entitled to vote in said election.
It was properly moved by Councilman

Town of Edgewater, Florida, and be spread upon the minutes of
this meeting held at the V. I. A. or TOVvn Hall, in said Tovm,
