Order Annual Election 1943 - 10-06-1943 v u c... ~ '-- v '\J RESOLUTION ORDERING AN ANijpAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE TOWN OF EDGE~lATER, FLORIDA, IN THE YEAR OF 1943, PRESCRIBING THE TIME AND lILACE FOR HOLDING SUCH ELECTION: PRESCRIBING THE R~S BY WHICH SUCH ELECTION SHi.LL BE GOVERNED, AND PRESCRIBING THE TIME THE POLLS SIL\LL BE OPENED AND CLOSED, AND PROVIDING !<'OR NOT ICE OF SUCH ELECTION. WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, is authorized and em- powered under and by virtue of the authority vested in it by the Laws of the State of Florida, and the Ordinances of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, to call an annual election in said Town, and to prescribe by Resolution the time and place of holding such election and the purpose thereof; AND WHEREAS, it is proper for the aforesaid Council to order an annual election to be held in the afore- said Town for the purpose of electing one Councilman to serve for a term of three years, and for the further pUl"pose of electing a Town Clerk for a term of one year (or until their or each of their successors are duly elected and qualified); NOW, THEREFORE : BE IT RESOLVED BY THYi Tom~ COmIC IL OF THE TO?m OF EDGE\{ATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. That an Annual Election be and the same is hereby ordered to be held in the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, at the Town Hall (otherwise known as the Co~nunity or V. I. A. Hall), on Tuesday, the second day of November, A. D.'1943, for the purpose of electing one Councilman to serve for a term of three years, 0,1" until his successor is duly elected and qualified; and for the further purpose of electing a Town Clerk to se~ve for a term of one year, or until his successor is duly elected and qualified. Section 2. That at the said Annual Election, the same laws and rules that apply to the General Elections under u .., ...- u '- ~ v ~ the Laws of the State of Florida, and the Ordinances of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, shall be observed. Section 3. That the polls at the above named voting place shall be open at seven (7100) o'clock, A. M. Eastern War Time, (that being the time in use in said ['oup. at the date of said Election) on said day of said election, and shall close at suhdown of said day. Section 4. That the Town Clerk of said Towh ne and he is hereby directed to give Notxce of the said election hereby ordered, by posting the Notice, form of which is hereinafter set forth, at least fifteen days prior to the date upon which the said election hereby ordered is set, in three (3) different, conspicuous and public places in said Town, one of which shall be at the front door of the V. I. A. or Town Hall in said Town. Section 5. That the Notice of such election to be posted as herein provided shall be in substantially the following form, to-wit: "NOTICE OR ANNUAL TO\lN l!lLBCTIOl(._ NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Council. of the 'rown of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, under and by virtue of the authority vested in it by the Lawsof t he State of Florida, and the Ordinancesof said Towh, has ordered an annual election to be held on Tuesday, the second (2nd) day of November, 1943, at the Town Hall (otherwise ~own as the Community or V. I. A. Hall) for the purpose of electing one eouncilman for the term of three (3) years, and one Town Clerk for the term of one (1) year, or until their or each of their successors is or are duly elected and qualified.
