Order Annual Election 1942 - 10-15-1942 v ~.~. u - --w ... I:. ......,r J o w u RESOLUTION ORDERING AN ANNUAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE Tmm OF EDGE- WA TER, FLOR IDA, IN THE YEAR, A. D. 1942, PRESCRIBING THE TIME AND iLACE FOR HOLD- ING SUCH ELECTION; PRESCRIBING THE RULES BY WHICH SUCH ELECTION SHALL BE GOVERNED AND PRESCRIBING THE TIME THE i'OLLS SHALL BE OPENED AND CLOSED, AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF SUCH ELECTION. WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, is authorized and empowered under and by virtue of the authority vested in it by the Laws of the State of Florida and the Ordinances of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, to call an annual elec- tion in said Town, and to prescribe by Resolution the time and place of holding such election and the purpose thereof; AND WlmREAS, it is proper for the afore- said Council to order an annual election to be held in the aforesaid Town for the purpose of electing one Councilman to serve for a term of three years, and for the further purpose of electing a Town Clerk for a Term of one year, (or until their or each of their successors are duly elect~ and qualified); NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. That an annual election be and the same is hereby ordered to be held in the Town of Edge- water, Volusia County, Florida, at the Town Hall, (otherwise known as the Community or V. I. A. Hall), on Tuesday, the third (3rd) day of November, A. D. 1942, for the purpose of electing one councilman to serve for a term of three years, or until his successor is duly elected and quali- fied; and for the further purpose of electing a Town Clerk to serve for a term of one year, or until his successor is duly elected and qualified. Section 2. That at the said annual election the same laws and rules that apply to the General u u <(.). . , ~._ _. J u :,) u ., Elections under the Laws of the State of F'lorida, and the Ordinances of the said Town of Edgewater, Florida, shall be obseryed. Section 3. That the polls at the above named voting place shall open at 7100 o'clock, A. M., and shall close at sundown E AS1"eR" STf\ K]) R ~:D Time, on the day of said election. Section 4. That the Clerk of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, be and he is hereby directed to give Notice of the said annual election hereby ordered, by posting the Notices to be hereinafter set forth, at least fifteen (15) days prior to the date upon which the said election hereby ordered is set, in three (3) differ- ent conspicuous and public places in said Town, one of which said Notices shall be posted at the front of the V. I. A. or Town Hall in said Town. Section 5. That the Notice of such elec- tion to be posted as herein provided shall be in substan- tially the following form, to-wit: ~OTICE OF ANNUAL Tmm ELECTION". . Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town ofOEdgewater, Volusia County, Florida, under and by virtue of the authority vested in it by the Laws of the State of Flfurida and the Ordinances of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, has ordered an annual election to re held on Tuesday, the third (3rd) day of November, A. D. 1942, at the Town Hall, (otherwiae known as the Community or V. I. A. Hall), for the purpose of electing One Councilman for the Term of three (3) years, and for the purpose of electing One Town Clerk for the term of one (1) year, or until their or each of their successors are duly elected and qualified.
