Election - Depositing Spoilage - Indian River North - $5,500 - 11-07-1933 - 10-04-1933 A *Me. NOIr Sheet 5, minutes of Oct 4th 1933: The following Resolution was introduced by councilman J.J.Francis " A- R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS; the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, did enter into a contract for the pur- pose of depositing spoilage on certain areas of the West bank of the Indian River North, lying and being within the Corporate limits of the Town of Edgewater; and EREAS, the cost of depositing said spoilage on the said bank of the Indian River North, amounts to the sum of Five Thousand Five Hundred Dollars 05,500.00) , which sum is now due and payable; and wVHEREAS1 the said Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, does not have sufficient funds in the Town treasury to nay said debt of Five Thousand Five Hun- dred Dollars ($5,500.00) ; and WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, deem it necessary, proper and to the best interests of the said Town to borrow the sum of five thousand five hundred dollars ($5,500.00) or to issue notes therefor, for'-he purpose of pay= ing and discharging said debt ; and vHEREAS, under Tection 3008 C.G.L. of 1927, the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia "ounty, Florida, must have the a-,nroval of a majority of the registered voters of the Town now residing therein, who have paid their taxes for the year last due there- on, and actually toting thereon to borrow money or contract loans for the use of the Town continued on sheet 6 'nrr''" MO N Sheet 6 Minutes of October 4th 1933 NOW T1EREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED that an election be called for the purpose of voting for or against the issuance of notes or the borrowing of money by the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, in the amount of five thousand five hundred dollars (45,500.00) for the purpose of raising money to be used to pa ; and discharge the said debt, now due and payable,tn- curred from the deositing of spoilage on certain areas, within the corporate limits of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, on the West Bank of the Indian River North, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said election be held on the first Tuesday after the first - onday tn November, A.D. 1933, to-wit, the 7th day of November A.D. 1933; and that due notice of election be given in accordance with the laws of Florida, in such cases mad e and provided.
