REPORTS OF OFFICERS;
Treasurer A .B .Wilkinson,
was present and made his final report to the
council, said report to be officially read at
the next regular meeting.

introduced the following Resolution;
"A RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE FOR THE RELIEF
OF A.B .WI LKINSON, TREASURER OF THE TOWN
OP EDGEWLTER, FLORIDA" .
The above named resolution
was adopted , by vote-the vote of the Council
being as follows; Councilman H .A.Moore , Yes-
CouncilmanF.R.Renwick, Yes.
Clerk R.C .Fuller, submitted
the Monthly Report of the Clerk, covering the
Clerks Cash acc3ant. Councilman H.A.Moore moved
that the report be received and made a part of
these minuted; the motion was seconded by Coun-
cilman F.R.Renwick, and unanimously carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
Councilman F.R.Renwick, decLared
the meeting open to any business to be brought
before it, inviting Ex-Mayor E.A.Lembeck, who
was present, to address the Council. "ir.Lembeck
stated that he wanted to bring the matter of the
proposed New Canal, which the Government advised
would follow the west shore line through the
Town limits , before the Council, so that action
might be taken to secure the spoilage from the
dredging to fill up the low marsh lands along tke
west shore. Councilman F.R.Renwick advised u1r.
Lembeck that the Council had already had a
committee composed of Former President of Council
Mr.Paul Van An an, and others , call on Col.
Frazier, the Government Engineer in Jacksonville
for this purpose , and had been assured that the
Council' s wishes in the matter would be carried
out, however to make doubly certain of the mattes
the Clerk was instructed to write Col.Fra.zier,
for the Mayor, and ask definately if this would
be done , thanking Mr.Lembeck at the same time fcr
his evident interest in the Civic affairs of tie
Community.
Clerk asked for date for meeting of
E quila,zation Board: After discussion, Councilman
Moore, moved that the First Monday in July at
the usual hour for the Council meetings , be set
as the date for the annual meeting of the Council
for the purpose of hearing complaints and making
adjustments etc. , for the 1931 tax roll, and that •
the Clerk be instructed to prepare the usual legal
notice of such meeting, advertising it one time
in the New Smyrna Daily News, on June 20th 1931,
and posting copies of such notice on the Towns
Bulletin Boards. The motion was seconded by Coun-
cilman F.R.Renwick, and carried.
Council then adjourned until its
next regular meetings subject to call of the

A RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE FOR THE RE-
LIEF OF A. B. WILKINSON, TREASURER
OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the Fidelity Bank of New Smyrna, Florida,
became insolvent and closed its doors on the loth
day of January, A.D. 1931, and
WHEREAS, at the time of the closing of said bank as
aforesaid, said bank held large deposits of money of
the Town of Edgewater, and
WHEREAS, it has developed that the security pledged
by said bank to said Town of Edgewater for its depos-
its as aforesaid was inadequate to fully secure said
deposits and that the proceeds realized from the dis-
position of said security held for said deposits falls
short of equalling the amount of said Townts deposits
by the sum of Four Hundred Eighty-eight and 24/100
Dollars ($488.24), and
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater is
satisfied that A. B. Wilkinson, Treasurer of the
Town of Edgewater, was guilty of no negligence, care-
lessness or default that would render said A. B. Wil-
kinson liable to said Town for the aforesaid defi-
ciency in the said Townts funds, and
WHEREAS, it is the sense and desire of the Town Coun-
cil to forever accuit, release and discharge the
said A. B. Wilkinson from arty and all claims, demands,
liability or causes of action that have arisen, or
that may hereafter arise, by reason of the facts here-
inabove stated, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, that A. B. Wilkinson, Town Treas-
urer be, and he is hereby forever acquitted, releas-
ed and discharged from any and all claims, demands,
liability and causes of action that have arisen and
that may hereafter arise, against the said A. B. Wil-
kinson by reason of the deficit that existed between
the amount of money of said Town of Edgewater, held

on deposit by the said Fidelity Bank of New Smyrna
at the time of the closing of said bank and the pro-
ceeds realized by said Town from the dispostion of
the security pledged by said bank to said Town to
secure said Town's deposit.
