Mr. Piser ask what was being done on the Park & Pier. He stated it looked
worse since the City took it over than it did before. Acting Mayor Smith
stated the Mayor was supposed to get help from County Prisoners, but he could
not tell them anything at present as he was not familiar with it. He stated
he had filled in some dirt and bulldozed it over, but it was the Mayor's oblig-
ation, so he would appreciate it if they "\Iiould hold off until the Mayor'S retuan.
Mrs. Goodrich ask if there could not be some signs put up on the highway
designating a Wayside Park. Attorney Chisholm was instructed to v~ite a letter
to the highway department asking if they would erect such signs.

~~. Teidi ask about getting the resume speed sign moved below the City
Limits as it is dangerous where it is now on the Highway, 5~pecially
turning into Florida Shores. He was informed the City diHlnave control
over setting the speed on the highway.
Mrs. Murton stated the Chamber of Commerce and the Civic Association had
ask the highway department to place these signs below the City limits and
also install a traffic light at Park Ave. and the Highway and she had
personally contacted them and no no avail.
Mr. Palmateer ask if a recount could be made at this time to try and get
the traffic light back on Park Ave. He was informed that a good many
citizens had already left for the north and it would be a poor time to
ask for this recount.
Acting Mayor Smith stated at this time he would like to make a statement
about speeding. I cover this City six or eight times a day and see quite
a few violations. You do not have to be a Special Police to report any
violations. All you have to do is call the Police Department and be will-
ing to appear against the violator. vie vrill not tolerate speeding. Local
residents and strangers will be treated alike in court.
There being no further business Councilman Seng moved we do now adjourn,
seconded by Councilman Maler and by vote CARRIED.
