The Regular Meeting of tee City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, held February 15th, 1960 was called to order by Mayor Crawford C. Shaeffer at 7:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayor Crawford C. The majority of these were caused by negligence. Bunning of lots is prohibited until the person who starts the fire notifies the fire department or City Hall for consent. Last week one day at New H~npshire and U.S. #1 a fire just about got two houses. This case was settled in Court and a fine imposed. I might state from here out the City Council and myself will not tolerate this any longer and I will make a case out of any such action, if a permit is not obtained before starting a fire. I do not mean you cannot start a fire to burn trash if you stay with it, but I will not tolerate the kind of burning that has been going on. I hope you will spread the word around. Councilm~~ Armstrong stated he was working on certain projects, but was not ready to give a report. Councilmffi1 Smith ask vmy there was no police report. Every other City has police activities reported every month. This was discussed and motion duly made by Councilman Smith that all reports from the different departments be in for the 1st meeting of the month. No second. Councilman Seng suggested the reports be in by the 2nd meeting of the month. This was discussed and Councilman Smith with drew his motion and stated he would go along with the suggestion of Councilman Seng the reports be in by the second meeting. Motion was then duly made by Councilman Seng these reports be in for the second ~e.ting of the Council, seconded by Councilman Smith and by vote CARRIED. Hennig stated she Vlould like to thank the street department for fixing the holes on Hubbell Street. Mr. Piser also thanked them for fixing the holes on Nar~~ga Drive. Councilman Smith stated he had some other work to be completed on the streets and hoped to get at it as soon as possible. Krs. Hennig also stated Mr. Laing had not had garbage collection for two weeks. She was advised to see Councilman Smith after the meeting and give him the exact location of the property. Mayor Shaeffer stated Kr. Kincaid had a Pipe Detector he wished to sell to the City for $100.00. This cost Mr. Kincaid $200.00 and he has been using it here in the City for a year, but was hard up and wanted to sell it. Motion duly made by Councilman Smith this be purchased by the Water Department, seconded by COQ~cilman Armstrong and by vote CARRIED. Roll call vote being as follows:- Councilman Maler Yea Councilman Seng Yea Councilman Smith Yea Councilman Armstrong Yea Mayor Shaeffer Yea Mr. LaBonde, Building Inspector ask that a notice be inserted in the paper that all tree limbs be cut up so that one man could handle them easily. Mrs. Goodrich was instructed to put a notice in the paper. There being no further business Councilman Seng moved we do now adjourn, second- ed by Councilman Maler and by vote CJlqRIED.
