Councilman Smith stated he wished to say a few words. I wish to th~~ the
people for their patience and understanding over the past holiday. We had
few complaints, and we did receive wonderful cooperation. The work did pile
up fast, but the men deserved a holiday and we are gradually getting caught
up and I wish to thank you for your patience.
Councilman Armstrong. Regarding guard rail on Riverside Drive and Indian
River Boulevard. It is not up and it was promised two weeks ago. Hayor
Shaeffer stated this was promised two weeks ago as he stated, but that is
the cooperation we get from the County. Councilman Smith stated if the
County would furnish the material he thought the City crews could put it
up. Mayor Shaeffer stated he would speak to Nr. Saxon again about it and
see if it could not be put up immediately.
Mayor Shaeffer stated the Zoning and Planning Board had not been appointed
yet, but would be appointed at the next regular meeting and the old board
would still act until new appointments were made.
Mr. Palmateer. Regarding the lowering of culvert under R.R. track. Is there
anything to report at this time? Hayor Shaeffer stated it was in the hands
of the Attorney, the Railroad Company had turned thumbs down, and the City of
Edgewater does not have money to do this job. Mr. Hanson stated the price
of $5,000 was exortitant to do this job. It should not be that expensive.
Mr. Palmateer questioned whether Mr. Hanson was an engineer and could estimate
the cost of this job. ~~. Palmateer was informed he couldcome into the City
