The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida held September 18th, 1961 was called to order by Acting Mayor Dana T. Armstrong at 7:30 P.M. ROU. CAIJ.. Acting Mayor D. T. Fred Garlick Present Present Present Absent Present Present Present Present The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held September 6th, 1961 were presented to each Councilman for his approval. Also the police Report and the Librarian's Report for the month of August, 1961. PROCLAHATION A PROCLAMATION PROVIDING FOR THE CALLING AND HOLDING OF A REGULAR ELECTION OF THE CITY OF EDGEHATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA. The above and foregoing Proclamation was introduced at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, held on the 18th day of September, 1961, said Proclamation being introduced by Councilman Seng who moved its adoption, which said motion was duly seconded by Councilman Beck and carried the vote of said Council being as follows:- , I \..." .1 ~ t . Fire Chief Garlick was to inspect this lot and report back to the CotIDcil. Chief Garlick stated he and his assistant inspected this car lot and could not find that these cars created a fire hazard. NET/'T BUSINESS Mr. Sepkowski ask if he could make an announcement. He stated due to circumstances beyond the control of the Board of Governors the games parties would have to be discontinued for the time being. He stated these parties are the main source and support of the building and hopes in the near future these parties could be continued. Acting Mayor Armstrong ask about the appointment's the Civil Defense wanted made within 30 days. Councilman Beck stated it was not necessary to get these names in before the next meeting, as Hr. DeMott would wait. Each Councilman and Official of the City is to name three persons to take his place, if in a des aster he or she is unable to perform his or her duties. Councilman Beck thought the new Councilmen could make these appointments. A letter of resignation was read by the Clerk from Water Superintendant Wm. E. Kincaid. Motion duly made by Councilman Beck this resignation be accepted with regrets, seconded by CotIDcilman Seng, and by vote CARRIED. Mayor Armstrong stated Mr. Kincaid had given the City wonderful service in the amount of work done and everything has been handled very nicely in this depart- ment. When ask who would take Mr. Kincaid's place, Acting Mayor Armstrong stated he did not know at present, but had spoken to one man who has had experience in this line of work and he would have an answer within a few days.
