Letter from Mr. Pageau: Complaint on dogs barking. Chief Norman was instruct-
ed to contact Mr. Cole, the owner, about this complaint.
Letter from Florida Shores Property Owners Association requesting meeting with
the City Council. Councilman Smith stated he was going out of town and would not
be able to attend a meeting and as the Mayor was sick, this should not take
place until a full Council could meet. Mr. Maxwell stated he had talked to the
Mayor and he was assured the meeting would be this Thursday at 1:30 P.M. The
majority of the Council would be unable to attend at this time, so the meeting
was set for Thursday May 11th, at 1:30 P.M.
Councilman Armstrong ask Attorney Chisholm if he had heard from Mr. Swoope about
aurvey of Florida Shores Drainage. If we cannot get this work done by either
Mr. Talley or Swoope, I would suggest we advertise for bids. I think the trouble
with the first survey, either one or the other did not understand just what was
wanted. Attorney Chisholm stated he would check again with Mr. Swoope.
Mr. Palmateer: I wish to thank the Council for their effort in securing the
proper drainage by putting in the Culvert under the Railroad.
Mr. Maxwell: I would like to ask what has been done if anything about signals
at Indian River Blvd. He was informed the City has received no word since a
survey was made several weeks ago.
Mrs. Hennig: There are eleven groups and several individuals who have pledged
to help beautify the islands on U.S. #1. She stated Mr. Shaeffer had previously
stated the City would take care of two islands. She ask if they could depend
upon that. She also stated the planting would be done under the supervision of
the State Road Department. The Clerk was ask to look up the records and see if
the City had pledged this support.
Councilman Armstrong: Somebody put hot ashes in their garbage can and they set
fire to papers in the garbage truck, which had to be dumped on the road, and
then shoveled into the truck again. Please refrain from putting hot ashes in
your garbage cans.
There being no further business Councilman Beck moved we do now adjourn,
seconded by Councilman Armstrong and by vote CARRIED.
