Beck said that the radio and the dome light could be transferred from
the old car to a new one, but everything else should be brand new.

Mr. Ralph Beach inquired about an ordinance against more Trailer Parks
in Edgewater. Mayor Shaeffer informed him that he had conferred with the
City Attorney about such an ordinance and Attorney Chisholm had stated
that such an ordinance would not hold in Court.
Councilman Armstrong read from a letter to New Smyrna Beach officials,
written in September, that Edgewater wished to terminate the Electric
franchise. As Mayor Bonnet was aw~, this letter had been tabled.
Councilman Armstrong complained that the voltage in Edgewater is too low,
and the rates charged are ten to thirty percent higher than rates to
customers of Florida Power & Light Company. Florida Power & Light pays
6% interest on deposits, while New Smyrna Beach pays none, also New S~a
Beach charges $45.00 for customer connections and charges for extensions
of electrical lines.
M~or Shaeffer said he will seek a meeting with New Smyrna Beach City
officials shortly after the first of the year to discuss Edgewater's
electrical contract with the City of New Smyrna Beach.
