Hayor Hussey: He have some trouble out on the shuffle board courts.
VIe have some boys and maybe girls driving bicycles over shuffle
board courts. I don't thi~~ that it is right. I would appre~iate
it if there were al1Y parents who have children riding on ther:
please try and have them refrain from doing so.
Mrs. Grayson said that the children do~m on the shuffle board courts
were not from Edgewater.
Nat Brovm: The park is suppose to be a recreation center for all
the people in Edgewater, not just the adults. Let's give the
kids a place to play. He also stated that he was ~nlling to pay
for the playground equipment a long time ago. He said that the
kids should have a place to play then they wouldn't bother the shuffle
board courts. He also stated that you have to belonG to a club to
play ~huffle board.
Councilman Palmateer: I am just as much interested in the children
as anyone else. I have never seen anyone ever be anything but
courteous to the ctildren. It is the parents' money that put up the
shuffle board courts. All we are asking is that the children refrain
from destruction.
}myor Hussey said that he. liked to see the children enjoy themselves .
He said that he would check and see v-rho the children were on the courts.
~~s. Grayson stated that the community center had been rented for
Saturday night to the Civic Club and felt that it wasn't right
since it had:been promised for the children by the Board of Governors.
}rrs. Y~rjorie Gunther, a member of the Board of Governors, asked
why the Board of Governors was not notified about this. She stated
that as far as she knew the community centel Vas for the children
only on Saturday Night.
