Letter asking that lights be put on the Park & Pier. Mayor Hussey stated there
were many streets in the City that needed lights as there were many dark corners.
He stated he was going to be governed by the Council in this matter. Councilman
Seng stated he needed a light on his corner, but the lights in question had nothing
to do with street lighting. COl.Ulcilman Siller stated the money used for this
lighting would come out of the recreation fund and had nothing to do with street
lights. Motion duly made by Councilman Seng the lights be installed. ColUlCilman
Palmateer stated while preparations were being made, why not kill two birds with
one stone and put in lights for theahurneboard courts. Councilman Seng stated he
would withdraw the first motion and make a motion to incorporate the snurneboard
courts along with the lights at each end of the pier, seconded by CO'W1C?ilman Palm-
ateer and by vote CARRIED.
CO'W1cilman Kennedy stated in regard to paragraph 111 of the letter received, he
thought the persons who had worked so hard on the pier should be consulted before
renaming it. Discussion followed on the ground in question and it was, decided
that only' the small parcel of land in front of the Community Center was to be

Mr. John Swartz raised a protest against the letter Mr. \V'eiss sent in. He
stated there had been only one objection at the Zoning Board Meeting. As to
the price I charge, it is a savings to the people in my Park. I also want to
ask about the picture of ray property. I sent a plat of the land in with my
application. He was informed that Section 13 of the Zoning Ordinance requires
a filing fee of $2.50 and also a picture of the property involved.
Mr. Scofield stated allowing this variance was unfair. He stated that only
persons within 300 ft. were allowed to have a voice in this and he stated he
thought the whole City should be considered as Trailer Parks were no asset to
any City.
There being no further b~iness CO\Ulc:i1man Seng moved we do now. adjo~, seconded
by CO\Ulc:i1man Siller and by vote CARRIED.
