Mayor Hussey then spoke. Members of the Council, Ladies and Gentlemen. I am
very glad and proud to be here to represent you as Mayor. I wish to thank you
for the effort and help you gave me to become Mayor of Edgewater and I assure
you it is with utmost pride I say this and I want to do all I can to co-operate
with every department and carry out nTY' platform. I am only one individual.
There are rour other Councilmen who represent the four zones in the ~ity or
Edgewater and I will do nw best to see that every Councilman puts forth his best
effort to take care of your wants that are brought in and I assure you we are
going to strive to do everything we can do in anyway we can. The City has
grown tremendously in the last ten years. It was a small town when I came here,
but I will co-operate in any way to help to keep on grOidng. People come here
and look and lots of people settle in Edgewater, but 1IDless the people offer to
co-operate with companies and firms, we cannot grow. United we stand, divided
we fall. Let us do our best for the City of Edgewater. I am not going to say
anything about the City forces. I will wait and see for IIWself how everything
stands in every department before coming to anyconclusions. ~hank you.
