2023-R-17 - Voted Debt Millage/ORESOLUTION 2023-R-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, ADOPTING TENTATIVE VOTED DEBT SERVICE MILLAGE RATES FOR THE CITY FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTING PROVISIONS, SEVERABILITY AND APPLICABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Florida Statutes, including Section 200.065, provide that the City Council shall adopt a tentative millage rate prior to the adoption of a tentative budget; and, WHEREAS, the Volusia County Property Appraiser has certified the gross taiable valne of property within the City of Edgewater as $1,724,334,395; and r WHEREAS, October 1, 2023 is the commencement of the fiscal year for the Ciiy of Edgewater; and _ WHEREAS, on September 11, 2023, a public hearing was held on the tentative voted debt service millage rate of $0.0238 mills for fiscal year 2023-2024 and all persons desiring to voice objection or make comment upon said millage rate were given an opportunity to do so; and WHEREAS, on September 25, 2023, a public hearing will be held on the final voted debt service millage rate for fiscal year 2023-2024 and all persons desiring to voice objections or to make comment upon said millage were given an opportunity to do so. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, deems it necessary to levy and does hereby levy a tax of $0.0238 mills upon all real and personal property, railroads, telegraph and telephone lines within the City of Edgewater for Voted Debt Service. Section 2: The Voted Debt Service levy of $0.0238 mills based on the sale of the 2 Resolution #2022-R-17 Limited General Obligation Note Payable in 2005. Section 3.
