CITY OF EDGEWATER
ZONING AND PLANNING BOARD SPECIAL MEETING
December 9, 1981
'CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Earl Wallaced called the special meeting of the Zoning and Planning
Board of the City of Edgewater, Florida to order at 7:00 P.M. in the Community
Center.
ROLL CALL
Present: Mr. Wallace, Mr. Wheeler, Mr. Hetu, Mr. Troian, Mr. McKillop,
Mr. Bennington, and Mr. Kroman. Mr. Winter and Mr. Nolan were excused.
Also present: City Attorney Clay Henderson, Planning Assistant Patti McCann
and City Manager Joe Mitchell.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Wheeler made a motion to accept the minutes of the December 2nd regular
meeting, which was seconded by Mr. Hetu. The motion CARRIED 7-0.
The purpose of the special meeting was to discuss the proposed amendments
to the zoning ordinance. The Board discussed and recommended various changes
concerning definitions, special exceptions, due public notice, variances,
zoning district classifications, permitted uses in certain areas, site plan
approval, Comprehensive Plan compliance, application fees, neglected premises,
common open space, zero lot lines, home occupations and the Board of
Adjustments, at great length. The City Attorney was requested to compile
the recommendations as they were discussed.
Mr. Wheeler made a motion to accept the zoning ordinance package as amended,
which was seconded~by Mr. Hetu. Upon roll call the motion CARRIED 7-0.
A short recess was taken.
The new proposed zoning map was presented with a brief discussion by the
City Manager and Planning Assistant. It was requested that input by the
Board members and general public would be appreciated to try and establish
as correct zoning districts as possible before the Board refers the map
to the Council for adoption as the "official" zoning map of the City.
The City Attorney stated public hearings would be held before the adoption
of the map.

Mr. Bennington made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Mr. Kroman.
The meeting was adjourned.
