05-10-1984 .. )-1 J~ CITY OF EDGEWATER Board of Adjustments Regular Meeting May 10, 1984 Minutes Mrs. Martin called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. in the conference area of the Community Center. Newell, Roush, Savini Also present: Mrs. Taylor, Secretary, and one member of APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Mr. Garthwaite and seconded by Mr. Newell to approve the minutes of the April 12, 1984 meeting. The motion CARRIED 6-0. OLD BUSINESS The order of business was changed to allow for arrival of a representative for Mrs. Pearl Hartsfield, whose case was continued from the last meeting. Review revised By-Laws Mr. Roush read the recommended change for paragraph 18 of the By-Laws. The members were in agreement with this revision and the motion made by Mrs. Murphy and seconded by Mr. Roush to approve the By-Laws was APPROVED 6-0. Those members present signed the original copy of the By-Laws. Continuation of the Pearl Hartsfield request for a variance to the rear setback requirements to construct a 10' x 18' glass enclosure on her home at 607 Mary Street Mr. Madlow Jones was present to represent Mrs. Hartsfield. Mrs. Martin asked if all the members had read the memorandum regarding the date which the lot was platted, and called attention to the revised sketch plan and the building permit attached to the memorandum. Mr. Garthwaite said that the questions the members had about when the lot was created and what the setback is have been answered. He noted that the lot was created before 1974 and there is a 20.5 foot setback, so that the applicant would not be encroaching further into a nonconforming area. Mr. Madlow Jones explained that he originally measured from the corner of the house to the lot line. The property line is not straight.
