SPECIAL MEETING called to order by Vice Chairman w~ckie. Mr. Hammel asked
to speak informally to Hoard about establishing a Mobile Rome Park on prop-
erty between Friendly Shores Park and Pyramid Park. Since this land is not
in the City Q,t this time Mr. Hammel was told he could pursue this with the
County but the Board appreciated the information as the annexation of this
property might be benificial to the parties concerned if all parties are
mutually agreeable.
Mr. Brittingham said he had talked to some 40-50 people aboutaa "grand-
father clause" for existing lot sizes that Vlon't comply with proposed new
zoning requirements without requesting individual variances for hardship
reaslims. Mr. Weaver suggested that we might put an ammendment to the Ord-
inance to that effect. Mr. Brittingham said he thought that even when there
was more than one lot under the same pwnership this rule should apply. A
question was raised about the possibility of 25 foot wide lots should this
rule apply? Mr. Weaver said New Smyrna has an atypical lot Ordinance whihh
amends the Zoning Code which alloVls variance for lots which don't meet the
Zoning Code and will bring a copy for the Board to study.
Mr. Loveland asked question in regard to rezoning Residential to Commer-
cial will residences existing in this new commercial. area be taxed as Comm-
ercial or residential. Mr. Weaver said he would check with County fax
Assessor for answer.
Mr. Shambora recommended that the Reading of Mmnutes and Correspondence
be postponed till delayed regular meeting on May 14. Board proceeded to
continuation of Zoning Ordinance study.
Page 38. Mr. O:>hambora brought foreward question about Minimum building size
or space for each child in Day Care Center, Etc. Mr. Weaver said
he would check State laws to see about restrictions and will add
Minimum provisions of State Board of Health.
~age 39. Mr. Nichols questioned about 25' setbacks in cluster housing devel-
opments. Answered by Mr. Weaver.
~age 40. Mrr Shambora questioned about need for 8 story buildings in ~ge-
water. After discussion no action was taken.
Page 42. Mr. Nichols asked about Chief Building Official. !Ar Weaver said
City Council would have to take care of this requirement.
~age 43. Mr~ McCallister asked to amend utilities Lines Etc. to add provis-
ion to require a protective enclosure, preferably concrete if
utility lines are located less than a 4 foot depth for safety
purposes. Board agreed to add this requirement to the end of the
paragraph.
Change "on the mainland" to "in the City".
Add #6. ~o comply with State Board of Health tlegulations. (R-5a
designated to be section from Oakridge north to Knapp Ave. west
of Commercial.
Change Min. J!'loor Area to 800 sq.ft. single, 1600 sq.ft. duplex
and 800 sq. ft. Clusters.
Add provision for requireing concrete enclosure if utility lines
are located less than 4 foot depth.

Page 63. Add clause" Any businesses not listed must apply to City Council
for approval". Also Delete Special Exemptions clause.
Page 64. Change Off Street Parking clause to read " Off street parking is
required. See Section 7(10.00 & 700.01."
Page 67. Add clause" any bussinesses not listed must apply to City Council
for approval. Delete Special Exemptions clause.
