Mr. Fishback moved to approve the Minutes of the July 12, 2007 meeting and Mrs.
Sopko seconded. Motion CARRIED 4-0.
OLD BUSINESS
Status of Amphitheater
Mr. Fishback asked about the status of the amphitheater roof and Mr. Corder replied he
was seeking bids to re-do the project, as the first company filed bankruptcy and prices
have skyrocketed since the project was first bid. He stated he has one bid for now, which
is $100,000 higher than planned, and possibly two more bids coming. Mr. Fishback
asked if it was a canvas roof and if it will cover the back. Mr. Corder stated it would
cover the top only and has to meet 120 mph wind code and fire code requirements. When
asked how long it may be to complete the project, Mr. Corder said he hoped about three
months.

Mr. Fishback asked who is taking care of the medians now, and Mr. Corder answered that
his Department is. He stated they only do the biggest areas that are beautified about once
a month as he can work it into the schedule, as we received no new staff to help. Also, he
stated the mowers are really taking a beating, due to the medians being rough and
uneven.
The Board suggested that each of the new Council members be invited to an upcoming
meeting, so they can get acquainted with this Board and the Department, and all the
services they provide to the City.
MISCELLANEOUS
Mr. Tipton questioned why we seem to get nothing from the County taxes. Everyone
seems to get a bigger piece of the pie than Edgewater. He noted also there is not even
one County park in our city and Oak Hill alone, has about 3-4 County parks.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Mr. Fishback moved to adjourn, seconded by Mrs.
Sopko. Motion CARRIED 4-0.
