A RESOLUTION OF THE EDGEWATER, COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, EDGEWATER, FLORIDA;
ADOPTING A PRELIMINARY PROPOSED BUDGET FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR 2023 – 2024; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY, APPLICABILITY AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Edgewater Community Redevelopment Agency (Edgewater CRA) was
created pursuant to Chapter 163, Part III, Florida Statutes (the “Community Redevelopment Act”)
establishing the conditions and procedures for the establishment of community redevelopment areas
and agencies; and,
WHEREAS, the Edgewater CRA is a dependent special district under Chapter 189, Florida
Statues (2006), known as the Uniform Special District Accountability Act (the “Special District Act”);
and,
WHEREAS, the Special District Act requires all special districts, including dependent special
districts, such as the Edgewater CRA, to adopt a budget for each fiscal year by resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Community Redevelopment Agency of
the City of Edgewater, Florida as follows:
Section 1. Authority. The Edgewater CRA has the authority to adopt this Resolution
pursuant to the Special District Act.
Section 2. Adoption of Budget. The governing body of the Edgewater CRA does hereby
approve and adopt a Budget for the Edgewater CRA for Fiscal Year 2023 – 2024. A copy of the budget
is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit “A”.
Section 3. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of
this Resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction,
such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not
affect the validity of the remaining potion hereto.

Section 4. Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect upon adoption.

SUMMARY:
In January 2020,the CRA Board approved the small-scale grant program for façade improvements up to $5,000
for properties located in the CRA district /area.As per the approved CRA Plan,façade grants are 50%-50%
matching grants. The approved budgeted amount for façade grants is $200,000 for FY 2023 - 2024.
On August 2,2021,the CRA Board approved this small-scale improvement grant in the amount of up to $5,000
for the grant applicant, Shushanna Tamman (Liddle Chiropractic) located at 103 E. Connecticut Avenue.
The work has been completed and all required documents have been submitted.
The total cost of the work is $12,288.95
The approved grant is a 50-50 match, up to $5,000
The grant recipient is requesting the 50% reimbursement of $5,000.

SUMMARY:
On January 10,2022,the CRA Board approved the medium scale grant program for façade grants 50-50 match
up to $25,000.
On August 1,2022 the CRA Board approved the medium scale improvement grant application for Earl Tingle
for proposed improvements to the one parcel with three buildings;107,109 and 111 N.Ridgewood Avenue
with tenants including Wilkie’s Pest Control at 107 and The Bake Shop located at 111.The grant is a 50-50
matching grant up to $25,000.
There is $200,000 budgeted for CRA façade grants in the current 2023 - 2024 Fiscal Year Budget.
The work has been completed and all required documents have been submitted.The work included parking lot
paving,electrical for Wilkie’s sign,electrical for The Bake Shop sign,Painting the exterior of The Bake Shop,
Landscaping at The Bake Shop,Updating The Bake Shop sign,New Sign at Wilkie’s Pest Control and New
Windows for Wilkie’s Pest Control. The work totals $44,450.67
The grant program is a 50-50 match, up to $25,000
The grant recipient is requesting the 50% reimbursement of $22,225.34
