CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL 2:00 PM Special Magistrate Jacob Schumer called the meeting to order at 2: 00 pm. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Special Magistrate Jacob Schumer approved the minutes of the January 11, 2024 meeting 3. PURPOSE/PROCESS OPENING STATEMENT None. 4. SWEARING IN OF WITNESS(ES) 104 N. Riverside Drive Edgewater, FL 32132 Council Chambers The following individuals were sworn in: Marta Orlowski of 1857 Date Palm Dr.; James McCarthy of 228 Wildwood Dr.; Walter & Glenna Maynard of 3332 Woodland Dr.; Charles George of 2323 Juniper Dr.; Code Enforcement Supervisor Miron San Miguel; Code Enforcement Officer Kevin Pogany; and Code Enforcement Officer Robert Hazelwood. 5. Officer Pogany and Supervisor San Miguel presented the case. Special Magistrate Schumer found the property in violation of Sec. 10-83 Neglected Premise and upheld the Staff 'Recommendations. b. "' James McCarthy admitted that the property was in violation, but came into compliance on Friday, February 2, 2024. Supervisor San Miguel presented the case and was unable to perform the re -inspection prior to the hearing. Special Magistrate Schumer upheld the Staff Recommendations. Supervisor San Miguel presented the case and stated that the property is in compliance. Special Magistrate Schumer found that the property was in violation, but is now in compliance and reduced both citations to $50.00 for a total of $100.00. e. Case #: 23-120154 B Citation #: 0002 (San Miguel) Maxine & Glenna Maynard - 3332 Woodland Dr. Sec #: 10-5 Nuisance Generally (Outdoor Storage) Attachments: 23-120154 23-120154 Photos Walter Maynard denied that the property is in violation. Supervisor San Miguel presented the case and stated that the property is in compliance. Special Magistrate Schumer found that the property was in violation, but is now in compliance and reduced both citations to $50.00 for a total of $100.00. Case #: 24-120227 Citation #: 0502 (Hazelwood) Charles & Sousan George - 2323 Juniper Dr. Sec #: 10-115 Parking Residential Attachments: 24-120227 24-120227 Photos Charles George admitted hat the property was in violation. Officer Robert Hazelwood presented the case. The property is in compliance, but Charles George wanted to discuss permanent options. Code officer advised Mr. George of options and to speak tot he building department. Special Magistrate Schumer found the property in compliance and upheld the Staff Recommendations. Special Magistrate Jacob Schumer reviewed the below cases and concluded after reviewing the cases that no one was present for the read cases. Pursuant to Section 10-348 and 10-345 subparagraph ClI of the Code of Ordinance and the statement that appears on the respective citation issued that failure to appear at the hearing means the alleged violator has waived any right to contest the violation(s) and that an order can be made for the maximum applicable penalties that include but are not limited to administrative costs, fines, daily fines and liens. Special Magistrate Jacob Schumer finds the below properties in violation of the said Section(s) and orders the staff recommendations. C.
