2025-R-17 - Tentative Millage Rates FY25-26RESOLUTION 2025-R-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, ADOPTING TENTATIVE OPERATING MILLAGE RATES FOR THE CITY FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025-2026; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTING PROVISIONS, SEVERABILITY AND APPLICABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Florida Statutes, including Section 200.065, provide that the City Council shall adopt a tentative millage rate prior to the adoption of a tentative budget-, and, WHEREAS, the Volusia County Property Appraiser has certified the gross taxable value of property within the City of Edgewater as $2,222,709,693 and has certified a rolle'd-back rate of $5.9161 per $1,000 of taxable value for the City of Edgewater; and WHEREAS, October 1, 2025 is the commencement of the fiscal year for the City of Edgewater; and WHEREAS, on September 8, 2025, a public hearing was held on the tentative millage rate of $6.33 ii-iills, for fiscal year 2025-2026 and all persons desiring to voice objection or make comment upon said millage rate were given an opportunity to do so; and WHEREAS, on September 22, 2025, a public hearing will be held on the final millage rate for fiscal year 2025-2026 and all persons desiring to voice objections or to make comixient upon said millage were given an opportunity to do so. CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, deems it necessary to levy and does hereby levy a tax of $6.33 mills upon all real and personal property within the City of Edgewater for operational purposes. 2025-R-17 Section 2: rolled -back rate. Section 3 adoption.
