11-17-2008 - Special (Closed) Executive Session CITY COUNCIL OF EDGEWATER EXECUTIVE SESSION NOVEMBER 17, 2008 5:00 P.M. COMMUNITY CENTER MINUTES CALL TO ORDER Mayor Thomas called the Executive Session to order at 5:00 p.m. in the Community Center. ROLL CALL Mayor Michael Thomas Councilwoman Debra Rogers Councilwoman Gigi Bennington Councilwoman Harriet Rhodes Councilman Ted Cooper Acting City Manager Tracey Barlow City Attorney Carolyn Ansay Assistant City Attorney Aaron Wolfe MEETING PURPOSE Present Present Present Present Present Present Present Present City Attorney Ansay stated she was requesting that she have the opportunity to confer with Council related to the litigation style Jane & John Doe v. Efren Vasquez and City of Edgewater, Case #6:07-cv-327. She informed the Council they could go ahead and move forward with the special meeting. Mayor Thomas stated this is a closed attorney client session between the City of Edgewater Council and City Attorney. It will commence and those that are not authorized to attend will be asked to exit the room during the course of the meeting. He expected this closed session to take approximately one hour. The names of those in attendance will be as follows: Mayor Michael L. Thomas, Vice Mayor Harriet E. Rhodes, Councilwoman Debra J. Rogers, Councilwoman Gigi Bennington, Councilman Ted Cooper, Acting City Manager Tracey Barlow, City Attorney Carolyn Ansay and Aaron Wolfe. Staff is not permitted in the closed attorney/client session. Upon conclusion they will return to the Community Center. Page 1 of2 Council Executive Session November 17, 2008 City Attorney Ansay informed them they would be going over to the Conference Room in Darren Lear's office because the one in City Hall was under construction. Since they have a City Council meeting following this meeting it is easier to go over there in case people come in early they won't have to have someone guarding the door. When they are done they will return to the Community Center. The meeting recessed at 5:03 p.m. for the Council to go into the closed session. The Council returned to the Community Center and the Executive Session was closed.
